we saw the Beatles tribute band Hard's Day's Night tonight at place called Legacy Hall (kind of a cool concept place that has a bunch of casual places in one building, almost like an huge adult oriented food court that has an small outdoor stage) in North Dallas...those guys were pretty good actually....had a pretty big crowd despite the change of nasty weather tonight...

last major concert was Def Leppard/Journey two months ago...Def Leppard kicked ass while Journey was pretty lifeless...it was towards the end of the tour so maybe they weren't as into it...

It was a Friday night, they took the stage around 9:20PM and played non-stop until I left around 12:20+AM. Hear they played 20-30 minutes more. He really is a virtuoso guitar player and has a powerful presence. He must have had around 7 different guitars up there with him that he'd pick from for different numbers. Various people in the audience came up and sang or played guitar, he's a legend around here. He's a sought after session musician when someone needs shredding guitar on their album. I was right up to the stage and was later told that Jello Biafra was standing right behind me all night, but I never noticed!

Glad she has a thoughtful parent, I see very young kids at metal shows without ear protection and I don't like it.

I keep a wad of cotton in a small ziplock in my wallet. Don't want any more nerve damage. The ringing goes away until one day it doesn't... ever. My doctor told me there's nothing that can be done for that nerve once it's suffered that kind of damage.

We saw Cake and Ben Folds a couple of months ago. We've got tickets to Childish Gambino's concert tomorrow night. We've also got tickets to the Thursday 20th anniversary "War All The Time" show in Feb. I want to try to go the Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity / Crowbar shows are in Feb as well. ugh.

I've only gone to one concert in my life and it was in the 7th grade. I saw Jesse Camp. The venue was packed with ~ 10 people, and I still have the CD he signed.

The best part about it was this dude in the "audience" who was doing some crazy solo dancing to Scar Tissue before the show.

I took the wife down to Portland to see Elton John last Saturday. The guy played his ass off for like 2 hours and 40 minutes and the wife loved it.

Portland is full of effing nut jobs though.

Rage Against the Machine Nov 29th 1999. Its been awhile.

got hammered before we headed downtown to maple leaf gardens. Stood in a line and saw that everyone was being frisked. Gave my bottle of whiskey to some street person outside.

Best friend went to the seats while I stood in line to get some beers for us...got to the front of the line after long ass wait and all the beer was sold out.

They had this spotlight that would pan around the crowd and hit me right in the eye everytime. Other than that, it was an amazing concert.

Rahim AlHaj and Sahba Motallebi at the MIM tonight. They worked together okay. He’s an excellent oud player and good at collaborating with other musicians. She’s one of the best instrumentalists alive today but is much better solo.
