Rage Against the Machine Nov 29th 1999. Its been awhile.

got hammered before we headed downtown to maple leaf gardens. Stood in a line and saw that everyone was being frisked. Gave my bottle of whiskey to some street person outside.

Best friend went to the seats while I stood in line to get some beers for us...got to the front of the line after long ass wait and all the beer was sold out.

They had this spotlight that would pan around the crowd and hit me right in the eye everytime. Other than that, it was an amazing concert.

Big venue, or anywhere? The last big venue band I saw was Brian Setzer Orchestra back in 2008 I think. I went to a bar a few weeks ago and saw Eluveitie and a couple other folk metal bands.

Not the last concert but, the last time I regularly went to rock concerts and the occasion that sticks in my memory. It was 1981 I think and, I was at a Grateful Dead concert. I remember being pissed because they closed down one of the only two bars that were open. Then, I looked around and realized the average age of the audience was 14! I was really depressed and kept asking myself wth do kids know about the Dead?

Fuck concerts, I never found it much of a positive experience. From the belligerent drunks, ridiculously slow and long lines, piles of tampons in toilets, horrible sound quality, female claw marks from trying to climb over, overpriced everything, non drivers all trying to leave at once. Plus the fact that seeing famous people in person just doesn't do anything for me.
Also the fake " this *whichever city you're in* is the most hardcore rocking town we've ever been too"...etc from the lead singer as everyone goes nuts...they say that everywhere people!!!
The only fun part is just being out with your friends and getting high or trip when I was in my early 20's but now they feel like an immature experience. Last I was talked into seeing was Disturbed and after the childish fight between a few college drunks in front of me, I couldn't wait till it was over. " you pushed me bro, wassup bro, step up then bro" lol, dumb kids.
