got mines a while back for $750, havent seen it at this price again for quite some time, definately a very good deal, the monitor is the BEST LCD I've ever worked with.

Man, I'm having a hellatime deciding between this or 2 - 17" lcds... I'm used to working on a 21" crt (have for like 10yr), but I've got this nvidia quadra now w/ dual dvi... any suggestions? I think the price would be about the same for both setups.

if you get 2 17" lcds with dvi it'll be more than $750, it would be in the $800-$1100 range

If you have the room and HAVE a 21"CRT I'd suggest you get one of these as a second monitor. I just (last fall) convinced my boss to buy about 20 of them and have not heard one compliant yet. However for som of our work we require stereo with emmitter lenses and they run at faster speed than the LCD's can handle.
I find matching one of the LCD's with a quality 21"CRT is an excellent way to compute.

dell 1800FP's were ~$350-380 at one point

Using mine that I got for that price. That'll happen when we can one of those stackables that Dell used to float around. Haven't seen one of those in awhile.

Mine's doesn't have any graininess. I use it to watch TV and DVD and the picture quality is great.

I -had- an 1800FP which I got during the sweet deal last year (~400), but it was recently STOLEN from my office at one of my Client's jobsites.

Luckily, they're cool about it and are going to pay me the going price for a like model. I quoted them the going price on an 1801FP (599+tax).

Now, if there was a current deal on 1801FP's for 400 bucks, I might go for 2 of those.. but as is, I think I'm gonna nab one of these 2001FPs.


kof, I may have to try that CRT+LCD setup... but a total rez of 3200x1200? EEEK! That may affect my property taxes.

I've had mine a couple months and only recented noticed the "screen door efffect" or "graininess". It doesn't bother me at all, once I notice it it goes away. Actually alittle weird feeling. I love this monitor. Did I say I love this monitor ?!
