How'd you get it to 484?

By the way VERY HOT! I was going to get the Albatron from NewEgg for $440 but is this worth the few extra bucks? It'd be $44 extra if you think it is. The Albatron has a TV tuner, etc. Albatron Thread Not trying to thread bash, just want an honest opinion on which one I should get...it's a lot of money!

Not everyone has to pay tax like you...

I'll host it but I want you to model it "price is right" style, ok?

I just order mine had a $100.00 off $400.00 stackable coupon my total was $383.00 shipped hope it is worth it, I'm a gamer, right now I'm using a sony G400 flat crt I might use dual monitor hookup, Does this flat panal really rock playing games? I had a FP1900 I hated it playing games, too much ghosting with my 9700 pro card it was making me dizzy LOL. Please give me feed back about gaming. Oh by the way here is a review I found about this monitor

I have had very little time to game on the monitor but from what I see it looks very good. All I got to play was a little Warcraft 3 and Battlefield. Color is better than my old Samsung 19" and I didn't see any ghosting except in 2D where if you look really hard you can see a little shadow of the objects on the screen. Most notably the mouse cursor. But it is very hard to tell. Also this is with an analog connection. Hopefully, I will get to build my new rig soon and get a Radeon 9X00 to get a little DVI action. By the way, this monitor does come with both VGA and DVI cords. Very nice. If you do get the pic to come up of my monitor don't mind the mess! Hehe.

that wouldn't happen to be the mouse cursor drop-shadow that's on by default in win xp, would it?

Any of you PX171M owners managed to get the picture to rotate 90 degrees when you physically rotate the monitor yet?

The manuals are not much use!

About the 2D drop shadow I am using Win2000 not xp. I hate xp, especially since all the scsi problems came about.

Update on the portrait mode - according to the Planar FAQ you can download software from linky portrait.com to get the pivot functionality. What they don;t tell you is that the software is a 30 day demo and you have to pay for it if you want it after that!!

Not impressed!

I've had just about every dell and planar, fp2000,1900,1700. Planar 15 17 19"ers, The FP2000 was the worst for games, MOHAA, DOD, and other's like it, the sky just looked bad and hard to pick out snipers, Still ghosting.

I just received this 16ms planar. I cant say it rocks, but it is the best LCD i've used to date. I still keep my viewsonic Pf815 22" for Games and such, but for reading LCD's still own. But still i have not seen one i can give up a GOOD CRT for all around everything. If only they had larger versions than 17"

Other than that - what an awesome LCD! No bad pixels either.

ROFL! Several years ago my bf at the time taught my cat that the top of the old 15" IBM VGA monitor was a VERY warm place. The cat would try every trick int he book to distract me so she could get up there. Eventually that monitor failed and I think it was partly cause the cat sometimes layed ontop of it and blocked the heat from escaping.

So ... do I go for the 17" or the 18"? The 18" is cheaper after MIR, but doesn't seem to have as good specs. Whaddaythink?
