Not sure what you're getting at? I certainly don't want the ACA repealed, I'd prefer it to be expanded in fact. I'd also prefer some money/other resources be rerouted to increasing mental health research and mental healthcare.

Note, I've already stated in this thread that the ACA made great strides to increase accessibility (primarily financial accessibility) to mental health care. I'm stating not enough has been done. That's probably the fault of the Republicans cockblocking everything the Democrats have tried to do (since I'm confident the Democrats would go straight to single-payer if they could), but that doesn't change my opinion that it's still falling short, considering we still have people shooting into crowds and we don't understand why.

In the post that I quoted you stated that the dems didn't do shit with regards to health care. In America that idiom means "nothing was done", so unless you aren't American, "didn't do shit" doesn't mean "not doing enough".

You are the one making the equation, like someone else, about gun education to other educational sources.

Nor is education about guns is quixotic, as you posted. It is literally a government enshrined right. I can see how you seem to not understand that at a basic level. The fact that such an enshrined right has literally no education about it in society is very sad. That lack of education is what leads to people like you and posts like yours. It leads to crap statements by politicians like Hilary and her laughably retarded comment about suppressors in her recent tweet. There are so many examples of this and it all directly relates to a complete lack and understanding about guns. Education fixes that.

I am NOT saying to force people to own, hold, or even shoot guns. I am stating everyone should have a basic education about what they are, their history, what they are not, and safety about them. That fact you want to argue against such education shows how small minded, paranoid, and crazy you are.

The reason the 2nd has no education about it in society is because it's a right that was created by the courts in 2008.

Sorry, in the nomenclature I've used for that phrase 'Didn't do shit' in the past, it has included 'didn't do enough', and yes I am American. I should have been more clear. If the Democrats had a higher personal priority for mental health care over the recent decade(s), it's either been stymied by Republicans or it hasn't been brought forward as well as I would personally like, but that's just my opinion. As I said, the ACA provisions for mental health care are superb for increasing financial accessibility to care. I want more. And I want to see an increase in mental health research and care far more than I want to see lawmakers jumping over themselves finding ways to/not to restrict gun rights.

Neat! Your safety education doesn't involve touching one?

And again, your actively changing what I said into what you think I said and fighting that. It's fun to watch you swing at these windmills, so keep going as you must.

Your stupidity is showing. Learn what the word Tyranny means you dipshit.
You laid out the defining features and I demonstrated how they apply to you. Sorry that's so hard for you to accept.

I guess you'd be like a petulant tyrant. I'm trying to think of examples... can't quite put my finger on any currently in power...

Hilariously, if we actually had nationwide mandatory hands-on firearm education, there would probably be a lot less people calling for gun legislation. Ironically, gun ownership would probably also be higher.

Safety and gun education shouldn't require touching one. Replicas work just great for that. They make those nice bright blue training guns for a reason for such educational courses. Your lack of education about this very subject shows right here in this post. Hence why your paranoia is being shown in all it's glory to the world with this thread.

Nope, you said it. Do I really need to quote your stupidity further?

You, like SlowSpyder, should stop inferring things. You're terrible at it.

Likewise, you should stop trying to conflate other educational subjects with gun training as though they have parity.

You come off as quixotic in your fight against all of these enemies trying to take your guns.

By this weekend 10x as many INNOCENT victims will have died from 2nd hand smoke than this shooting. Also by then, 4x as many innocent persons will have died from 2nd hand smoke as innocent victims of violent gun crimes during the same time period. And you don't care. Admit it, you don't care one bit about saving lives. If you did, you'd be at least as passionate about this much lower hanging fruit that kills so many more people, does a lot more damage to society. And you don't care, you just want to ban guns. You are an emotional thinker and have no perspective.

I don't agree with the NRA in plenty of areas, but with the opinions expressed here, I'm very happy I joined yesterday so I can help protect my our rights from people like you.

The highschools in the county by me still have gun clubs and go skeet / trap shooting weekly after school. These kids learning to respect what a gun can do and learning solid fundamentals and gun safety is fantastic. And I'm willing to bet we have much less gun crime and gun problems than areas with much stricter gun control in this country.

What? Many states have laws banning smoking indoors in public places (which was a huge fight by itself). Seems to me people are plenty concerned about this, and at least something is being done about 2nd hand smoke..

In fact in NYC the police will kill you for selling cigarettes! That's how much they care!

You know facts don't matter. It's all duh-version, anyway, away from an unhealthy fetish for military style weaponry & firepower.
Sorry, do you have something to comment on regarding my statements? Or just nodding in self-confirmation at the person who's actually engaged in conversation?

If only there were an amendment that read "the right to keep and drive a full size pickup truck will not be infringed'.
If there was, it would be a Right.
It's ivwshane that is somehow pretending the 2nd Amendment suddenly became about firearms in 2008 by magical pixie dust.

hmmmm.....maybe if you think of the content of that decision in 2008 and how it was different from previous decisions in what the 2nd means you'll be able to understand what he is saying. Your ignorance of a fact that has been discussed in this very thread is YOUR problem not ivwshane's.
