You mean the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment deflectors? Yes, they are working as intended.

What doest that even _mean_?

It appears you are yet again switching arguments and instead of defending your previous claims about the effect of gun ownership are now just hiding behind your precious constitution. Can't you just pick an argument and actually defend it?

Pretty simple. The Constitution in general, with regards to how to change it and the 2nd Amendment in particular with regards to private citizens keeping and bearing arms including buying arms and ammunition are working as intended. Working to keep knee jerk political actions from banning or placing even more ludicrous restrictions on our rights. No one believes that sociology or any of the soft pseudosciences are anything but laughable political posturings.

"It’s a running joke in academic circles. There are scientists, and then there are “scientists.” Physics, math, most of biology, that’s all science. Psychology, evolutionary biology, ecology, that’s a little softer. And then there’s sociology.

Uncyclopedia defines sociology as “a cult based around the intellectual pseudoscience of studying society. Physicists in particular like to rag on the discipline. Take Alan Sokal, who submitted an entirely nonsensical paper to a sociology journal and got it published. The paper, called “Transgressing the Boundaries – Toward a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity” contained sentences like:

The Einsteinian constant is not a constant, is not a center. It is the very concept of variability — it is, finally, the concept of the game. In other words, it is not the concept of something — of a center starting from which an observer could master the field — but the very concept of the game.

Its publication prompted a call to re-evaluate just what sociological journals were publishing and how rigorous they could possibly be."

Almost a month after the incident. Why the shutdown of information to the public?
https://www.reviewjournal.com/crime...es-on-information-flow-in-las-vegas-shooting/

"
MANY UNKNOWNS

Nearly a month after the mass shooting, the gunman’s motive remains a mystery. More straightforward questions also remain unanswered, including whether the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay — where the gunman was staying — has surveillance cameras, and what exactly investigators collected in the gunman’s hotel room and homes.

Authorities also have not said how long the gunman had a “do not disturb” sign on his hotel door, and whether hotel staff saw something suspicious in his room but failed to report it.

Though authorities have described the investigation as a team effort, they have not explained what role Las Vegas police, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are playing in the case."

Nothing makes a lefty asshole like Jhhnn think about slime more than someone actually talking about the Constitution. Sorry Jhhnn, I think the Constitution is important.

Says the man of 1000 slimy questions & no answers. Before you know it you'll be able to blame somebody other than the shooter for the massacre.

Are you unwell? You seem to have had some sort of brain spasm.

What does your Constitution (an over-rated document, in my opinion) have to do with your claims about the costs and benefits of gun-ownership in comparison with smoking? Could you _possibly_ stick to one topic long enough to enable an actual discussion?

And then you seem to have decided to jump to another topic you know nothing about, seemingly entirely at random.

Could you possibly stop with the patronising efforts to tell us all at length about things we know more about than you do? I remember the Sokal hoax, I found it quite amusing at the time, as having been raised as a conventional leftist I was never much of a fan of the pomo faux-left types (Sokal is a more old-school leftist as well).

But the article was published in a minor, non-peer-reviewed journal, hardly a major sociology journal. And not all sociology is of that trendy pomo variety, not by a long shot it's quite a diverse field.

Plus, these days, there seem to be dodgy journals in all fields (rather like the academic version of vanity publishing)

e.g. these are quite funny

1. I don't talk about smoking, that's another poster.
2. I really don't give a rats ass what you think about our Constitution.
3. The topic is the Las Vegas shooting and the always after shooting topic of gun control.
4. Since you're a foreigner and don't have a dog in this fight, go fuck yourself.
