Bart was supposed to be cypress shaders with cayman architecture

What?.. I am sorry but it does not make any sense to me..

At the heart of today’s new cards is Barts, the first member of AMD’s Northern Island GPUs. As we quickly hinted at earlier, Barts is a very direct descendant of Cypress. This is both a product of design, and a product of consequences.

Ultimately 32nm was canceled around November of last year. But even before that AMD made the hard choice to take a hard turn to the left and move what would become Barts to 40nm. As a result AMD had to make some sacrifices and design choices to make Barts possible on 40nm, and to make it to market in a short period of time.

For these reasons, architecturally Barts is very much a rebalanced Cypress, and with the exception of a few key changes we could talk about Barts in the same way we talked about Juniper (the 5700 series) last year.

I don't think this go against what I'm saying, since it does not say anything in reality.

What exactly do you not agree with?

That to estimate the shaderpower going from 5d shaders to 4d shader gwith current chips it is better to compare with Barts than Cypress?

Both Cypress and Barts have 5d shaders but so have HD4xxx,

Barts, which is closest to Cayman in time and architecture is the only sensible example to use as a baseline.

Or are you having problems with that I'm saying that Barts should be closer to Cayman architecture than Cypress is? And you base this on that Anand says that the architectural changes are probably small? Are you saying that the architectural changes made with Barts are not related to the Cayman architecture?
