I'll always interpret in the context of when Seagate went beyond the typical/custom industry warranty by increasing to 3 or 5 years, touting their warranty increase as indication of confidence in how reliable their products were. Then a few years later, reverted back to 1 or 2 year warranties. When asked if this new warranty length was indication of confidence in how reliable their products were, Seagate spokespersons either had no comment or responded by saying there was no correlation (hoping you'd forget when they loudly proclaimed it was just a few years prior). Ooops!
