Anyone know how good the rebates are on these? I need a new phone, but with school starting up here I cant afford not to get the $200 back or to wait a year for it.

In some markets it does. Look at the contract you sign when you sign with them. There's a place you initial that says if you are from certain states you agree that within 12 to 24 months you will be upgrading from TDMA to GSM and at that time you will need to completely upgrade your equipment. Kinda interesting.

also to note ... ATT GSM no longer offers insurance. i wanted it because i have this bad habit of sitting on my phone. alas they do not offer it. also word to the wise, do not get the motorola t720. it's a piece of junk and if i had another choice i would go back to nokias.

the rebates usually come 4-6 weeks after.

Anyone know of a deal on Sprint (NC)?
Have Alltel now, but have missed 3 important calls from family members this week. My phone never rang, we were only 14-20 miles apart in an urban area with towers galore!

I am cheapo, esp. when it comes to cellular service, and need a basic package with a family plan for 3 or so phones. Hate like heck to have to pay much for a phone (see, I told ya I was cheap!) -- usually get 'em free up front (as opposed to waiting on rebate).

Very, very appreciative for anyone who can offer help! Thanks!

tmobile rebate comes about 3 months after...the amazon rebate comes like 6 months...AFTER you haggle with them

My wife has a T720i. She likes it very much. The only problem she had was that the battery is rather short lived, but I fixed that by buying her a charger and spare battery (which was < $50, not bad considering she got the phone for free).

great find. ive been meaning to find a replacement for my nextel service in the orange county area.. i like the features of the 3650 with tmobile but its kinda bulky. at this point i just want something reliable as far as signal/service and decent battery life. i wanted something to replace the camera and pda i carry but i know thats not gonna happen anytime soon..

I could swear it still does but it now called Lockline or something. Since Cingular now uses that too I think it's an outside company that does it. I am switching from AT&T to Cingular so I noticed a few thing along the switch

Just remind those in NYC: you can always get INSTANT rebate from agents in Flushing, and you can definitely make MORE money than Amazon rebates. I got my T-mobie R225M for $-150 AR, I told them I wanted the instant rebate, well, they could only gave me $120. OK, I did not want to wait, so I took the money.

i was looking at the sidekick but what sucks is that internet service is 20bucks extra/mo. other things you would want are extra charge too.. i guess no one offers inet/aim for free huh? too $$ for me

I have yet to see anyone get a (decent) free phone of any kind from Sprint. AFAIK, they are the only provider that doesn't have free phone deals. Not that I understand why anyone would choose Sprint anyway...
