Rasmussen is also known to skew Republican due to the nature of its polling samples. While it's occasionally useful, it's frequently considered the best case scenario for right wing polling. Intelligent people rely on a broader consensus of polls to see where things are going... and it's definitely not good for Trump.

What should be of worry to the GOP is the generic congressional polling right now. CNN has the Dems at 54-38. Quinnipiac has them at 53-38.

The RCP average is 46.3- 36.7.

The Repubs knew they were going to take a hit this fall due to their blatant and shameless acts of legislating much more of the nation's wealth over to our country's patriotic plutocratic pirates who own their asses.

I guess they're banking on their gerrymandering, voter suppression legislation and their loyal (brain dead) constituency who just love to flagellate themselves for the good of the party.

The sad part about this whole self-defeating scenario that the Repubs finds themselves in is the fact that their legislators are going to have to rely more an more on their few wealthy donors and over-saturate their diminishing constituency with much more lies, ridiculously ramped up fear and hate, more disingenuous acts of betrayal and paying much more attention to the evangelists, racists and supremacists who have nowhere else to go to find representation.

The thing is, I think this is how they want it. I don't think the Republicans actually want to control Congress. It is hard to blame other people when you are in charge of everything. Instead they want the Democrats to have the majority. That way the Republicans can tell their constituency about all the great things they would do if only they were in charge without all the problems of being expected to actually do those things.

I think the complete lack of anything getting done this past year is evidence of this. The only thing the Repubs can agree on is lowering taxes on basically themselves at the cost of nearly everyone else. All the rest of their overly simplistic lowest common denominator answers that they endless repeat to their base is completely unworkable when it comes to trying to implement.
