Hi all. Is it just me, or are the most recent drivers (275.33) from NVIDIA rather unstable?
I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64, 4 GB RAM, 2 x XFX Geforce 7950 GT xtremes in SLI mode, and an AMD x2 4600. I usually run my games at 1920x1200 on my old Dell LCD panel.
Before the July driver release, I had to use an older driver (I think 197 series) to get rid of weird texture and shadow artifacting / tearing in Mass Effect 2. The release before the latest drivers at least allowed me to run all my games. This new release has caused outright blue screens on a number of game launchings. Left 4 Dead 2 = blue screen. Mass Effect 2 = blue screen. Starcraft II = flickering shadows (same as previous versions). Team Fortress 2 = black triangles / poly rendering errors on med-packs.
I find it odd that Team Fortress 2 would run, but that Left 4 Dead 2 now blue screens (since I thought they were both Source games).
I'm guessing NVIDIA just doesn't care about those of us with limited budgets and older graphics solutions, but it's still surprising to see a company release a driver that seems so unstable.
Any thoughts / suggestions / knowledge of possible fixes?
Yes, I selected the "delete previous drivers" under the custom install options.
