Thanks Thugsrook, you always give me some hope. Anyway, you only run 1:1 right now right? I think you've answered a bunch of my questions about RAM OCing. Anyway, I have the P4B533-V board so if I get a speed like that, I should try and run 4:5 to boost DDR speed? That's how it works right?

yea something like that.
run in 4:5 mode to find out what the ram can do max.
run in 1:1 mode to find out what the cpu can do max.

from there the choice is upto you

Alpha PAL8942 w/50cfm sunon @ 38C idle / 42C running Prime95

:Q Don't think it will burn up

OK, I got over myself to see what this one could do. Running it @150.5Mhz=2408Mhz according to WcpuID with voltage at +10%=1.60v according to hardware monitor.

Would not complete Prime95 with default voltage but has been running with the 1.6v since last night and is still running right now with no errors. Temps have been in the 45-48C running Prime95.

Thugs I've been following your O/Cing exploits for some time...excellent numbers!

I decided to snatch up one of these little gems (1.6As) since viewing the success others have had.

Ordered it from Newegg, it arrived 07/03 with a pack date of 06/05/02 from Costa Rica.

Also got a new M/B Asus P4B533-V. I had a 512 stick of Generic Samsung PC2700. I put it all together

with the stock HS/F to see if I could get close to any of your numbers. This board kicks butt I took it up

to 160 FSB with the 4:5 ratio it was stable enough to run Sisoft Sandra Memory bench getting 3115/3113

at that speed. The temp went up to up to 58C running prime and it crashed in less than an hour. I'm

getting an Alpha 8942 with a panaflow fan putting out 40cf/m. I think the memory is the weak link.

Any suggestions on the best memory to compliment this setup?

galtsfan ~ Corsair XMS
be fore going nuts with memory - find out what the cpu can do by using the 1:1 ratio.
that way when you have problems you know what to blame

once you know what the cpu can do (prime95 stable) then work on the memory.
i know it takes longer but it will save your sanity

Galtsfan: try a stick of Corsair XMS3200. I don't believe the P4B533-V allows RAM voltage adjustment, but if so, try cranking it up a notch or two. Even then, Samsung PC2700 isn't likely to do DDR400 (especially the newer -DTL varieties.)

I just got my 1.6A from newegg. Pack date is 5/?/2002.

Currently running @ 2.4G / 150fsb on default 1.5v vcore. Currently has run Prime95 torture test for 1hour, I'm continuing to test for stability.

I'm using the Asus P4B533 and I have to admit I'm very impressed with the documentation and features. I've never had an Asus before, but I think I'll be buying from them again.
