HWBattle, the guys that posted GPU-Z screenshots of GTX 980Ti as well as benchmarks, have been told by industry sources close to them that GTX 980 Ti will have a MSRP of $649!!! :awe:

GTX 980 will get a price reduction when GTX 980Ti launches.

WCCFTech wrote a piece earlier today about MSRP is $800 and they posted a screenshot from a shop, which to me looks like placeholders due to the weird prices ($812 etc which doesnt fit an official MSRP price).

Awesome news if HWBattle is correct and they have been very reliable so far.

Both prices are bad and overpriced. This card should cost 500dolars just like GTX780 after r9 290 launch.
But yeah with no competition from amd they can charge even 800.
If its 650 then "good" i think? But still nothing extra to see here.Just another overpriced card from NV.

Exactly. 650 is still way too high. 500 is normal for high-end, 550 is stretching it.

800 is just laughable.

This seems more realistic given Fiji's projected price of $850. $650 would be stupid low for an almost flagship product.

Fiji competes with the Titan X. Both the so called super flagships.
I thought the gtx980ti will compete with the 390x?

500 is the sweet spot for high end. Any higher and the value just isnt there when you can use two lesser cards in SLI xfire.

Just doenst make any sense to spend 650 for SLI gtx970 performance unless your 4k and then your gonna need dual card anyway

Imagine GTX 980Ti at $649 and Fiji XT at $850. Then AMD will be in a lot of trouble. Perhaps Nvidia is going for the kill...?

I`d take two GTX 980 Ti`s if HWBattle is right

That's usually where the cards settle down in price after a few months on the market.
That's not opening day prices.

It was until about six years ago.

Stagnation and price fixing at its best. I got a 580gtx around 550 otd at launch. 600 series started pushing the price envelope because they could. Consumers need to stop buying the overpriced crap. I yelled at my buddy for buying a Titan at launch. How long till he was a sad panda? A few months? First gen titan owners were screwed as bad as 780 owners.

649 isnt horrible but is still overpriced for what you get. Will performance be similar to 980 at 1600 4000?

Well there is a thing called inflation. You cant expect top tier cards to stay at 550$ forever.

a month or 2 after release ,I expect this..
Titan X 799$ vs Fiji Fury card
980ti 599$ vs 390x
980 399$ vs 380x
970 279$ vs 370x

Agree with most except Titan X price. Nvidia has never lowered the $1000 price on any single GPU Titan parts. They just replaced by another $1000 Titan

Are you new to Nvidia pricing or something? I'm lost as to how you believed the 980Ti would be at $500?

The premium card strategy have worked so well people think $650 is low lol.
No wonder AMD is following Nvidia with Fury

SLI or CF is out of the question for $800/$850 GPUs for me. $650 Id think about two 980Ti in SLI. I hope Nvidia think about that

If Fiji is going to slightly outperform Titan X, then 980 TI will need price separation to generate positive buzz because otherwise Fiji is going to steal the spotlight. If Hawaii is coming back, then I have to assume it's going to have improved thermals and power consumption. Under a new product name, it will shed itself of the stigma it got at release. So 95% performance of GM204 for $400 or so will force Nvidia to drop prices on the 980.

It all makes sense IF Fiji can beat out Titan by 10% most of the time.
