its one thing when its just about some random person. its another when its about a public figure that makes their money off their looks. don't even pretend anchors are hired for their brains.

This seems like a complete non sequitur to me. When did I say news anchors weren't hired for their looks? This woman was certainly hired, and has had success, largely on the strength of her looks, which pretty much any non-cloistered-geek person would agree are far above average.

what do non geek people know? their word is law when it comes to who is hot, and who is ugly. I mean who knows females better then geek who spend 90% of their time on the internet looking at pictures of females they'll never meet.

Maybe Fox hired her because she is ugly, that would be revolutionary, and maybe fox 11 has the most watched news broadcast in LA because she's ugly.

Hate to say it, but I don't know anyone who watches Fox news because of the in depth reporting. I won't sit her and argue with men who think she's ugly, because they are obviously living in a cyber world where pr0n females are who they judge every other woman by.

and to people sayin "she's had tons of pladtic surgery" what proof do you have about this? her lips look less fake then Angelina's (who looks fake to me, but her's aren't either) and some other silly sh!t...

I think that Mellisa chick is decent at best, I would never say she's "ugly" but I wouldn't give her the time of day. That's my preference.

I work at a liquor store and probably see 100 a day at least, and I do club promotion where I see uncountable numbers of females.

In my opinion skinny blond'ish model looking chicks are a dime a dozen in Southern California. That Mellisa chick reminds me of half the females I see ever day. Again that's my opinion, and Lauren also looks very much like a lot of the Hispanic females I see every day, but that is my preference so I like it. does that make sense to you at all?

Again, she's not a white woman, and ethnic females have much different features, bigger lips, higher more defined cheek bones, more pigment, a lot of times smoother looking skin, less winkles. I remember her before she was the news and she looks exactly the same, she hasn't change a bit in the 10 years I've seen her.

Where is your proof, not some hunch. It's possible she had a boob lift (which isn't implants) after her first child, but I don't see any basis to anything else that's been claimed. I don't care what's blatant to a majority (according to you) of people who've seen her pictures. What makes any of them an expert?

Nothing makes them an expert, but when you have a great number of people telling you something based on appearance alone, you at least have to pay some heed to it.

As for "ethnic" versus white women: first, the term "white" is so non-specific that it renders your statements almost meaningless. However, if by white you're essentially referring to western European women, then I'll say I've seen plenty who have "less wrinkles, smoother looking skin, more pigment, higher more defined cheek bones, and bigger lips" than many hispanic or latino women I've met. It really all just depends on the woman.

Do certain ethnic groups have somewhat common features, as a grossly-general rule of thumb? Sure. But don't take the opinions of these forum posters on one newscaster as indicative of their views on "ethnic" women as a whole.

I disagree with any who say she's ugly, as I find her to be rather attractive. At the same time, even if I didn't think this way, I'd never describe another person as "ugly;" I simply state that they aren't my type, or I'm not particularly attracted to them. Everyone truly is appealing to someone.

But don't take it as a personal attack when they disagree with your opinion, and take it to mean that they automatically don't like anything that isn't blond-haired and blue-eyed. I personally find the Melissa woman to have what I would describe as a more traditionally-beautiful appearance than Lauren, but that doesn't suddenly mean I'm not interested in anyone other than eastern European women.

Edit: Just as an example, look at how many people on here would sell their left leg for a chance to have lunch with Jessica Alba. I'd consider her more "ethnic" in appearance than many other actresses, yet the forum-goers seem to find her quite attractive.

She's not bad at all, kind of plain looking but still attractive. I guess most news anchors are supposed to be more business looking any ways.
