Once you receive your card, make a purchase (amount doesn't matter), and 8-12 weeks later you'll receive a $150 statement credit. Enjoy!

How long is the 0% intro period? Is it for purchases or balance transfers?

Be very careful with this one. 0% is in effect for 12 billing cycles. Then, it goes thru the roof, literally.

I would use this but only for the free $150
Is the $150 in Sony Points? or is the $150 credit good for purchases ANYWHERE at ANY STORE?
One more question... I see it says you get 10 Sony Points for every $1 you spend... so is the $150 given to you after you spend $15?

I'm a little confused.

EDIT:
2. You will automatically receive 10 points for each $1.00 of Net Purchases made with your Sony Card at SonyStyle.com, Sony Style stores and ImageStation.com from November 1, 2006 - January 4, 2007. ("Net Purchases" means purchases of goods and services made by you or any authorized user on your Account minus any returns or refunds.) Points will be deducted for any returns or credits made on your Account. Points will appear on your monthly statement.

5. Points per eligible 1 dollar spent at SonyStyle.com and 3 points per dollar spent on Sony products purchased elsewhere. And 1 Point per eligible dollar on your everyday purchases. Points are not earned on balance transfers, convenience checks, cash advances, or fees, including fees for products that protect or insure the balance of the card member's account. You will receive complete details when you become a card member.

Option #1
Make at least a $15 purchase at Sonystyle.com, sonystyle stores or imagestation.com and get 15 Sony Points per dollar and you get the $150 Credit applied to your Sony Credit Card. In essence you actually are getting $135 since you have to buy something for $15.

Option #2
Make $150 in everyday purchases from any store you shop at and you get 1 Sony Point per dollar. You'll get $150 credit on your card.

Thnx OP.

its not confusing actually if it were sony points they would of mentioned points specifically rather than just credit

by the way i want to ask a pertinent issue of having more than one card? i had one CC recently i got a 2nd and now this could be a 3rd, i was wondering if this hurts your financial records ie. credit score? or is that a positive activity to obtain more cards?

thanks for any replies

I think opening more than 3 in one year is bad.
So, I think you are fine as long as you are paying your cards and not being late.
I have about 6 CC plus 4 store dept cards and my score is pretty good.

I already have a Sony card, called them and they said I can open more than one to get the offer; I opened a second account, it was approved. Now to use the card and confirm I get the $150... what a crazy promotion!

I'm not sure what frankgomez was quoting, but it looks to me like you make any purchase and get a credit for $150 on the card.

I don't think you know how to use the phrase/term "literally" correctly.

So who has done this and had it work? You can make a purchase anywhere for say $300 and get $150 back on your next billing cycle? If this is true then I'll get the card and picking up a $200 laptop from HP or Dell with it.

I get a discount through work and school, so a $800 laptop is roughly $350 for me, add the $150 from Sony's card and it drops it down to $200, the only catch is I have to have the laptop/PC shipped to my work in order to get my EPP discount.

Having a third CC opened won't hurt you that badly. A hard inquiry such as this might knock 10 points or so off your FICO, but the other things you do with you other credit cards bring it up quickly again. So long as your're not maxing out your credit cards and always make your payments on time and make more than a minimum payment. If you are thinking of taking out a mortgage or even a new car loan, it's better not to have any recent openings of credit (at least 6 month or more), to insure your FICO is at it's highest level so you can qualify for your loan and qualify for the best interest rates out there.

Here's link directly from myfico.com which is what 90% of all loans/inquiries are based on.
MyFICO.com
Click on the "Understanding your FICO Score. It's in pdf format. Maybe 15 or 20 pages total. It's good info for just about anybody.

Your FICO score is actually broken down into 5 parts:
35% Payment History
30% Amout Owed
15% Length of Credit History
10% New Credit
10% Types of Credit in use.

As you see the most important are your payment history and the amount owed.

I guess I'm going to the wrong banks then, I've been told credit history is worth a lot. According to creditors, my credit score is only 740 because I've only had credit for 3 years.

Wait, you mean that when I open my bill for the 13'th cycle, the apr wont come out of the envelope and leave my house by making a hole in my roof?

Read it, but unfortunately there are conflicting posts saying 2 different things. There have been people who have said they signed up but I don't see anybody saying they have seen the $150 yet.

i think it's because it takes 8-12 wks after first purchase, so unless someone signed up 2 months ago no one would be able to confirm. i generally have never had issues w/ these promotions (or rebates, etc etc)

I've done this promo before when it was $100. They say it takes 8-12 weeks, but I received my credit after my first statement (YMMV).
