This is what I got from reading the fine print on the sonystyle website.
You can either purchase NOW with the credit card # and activate the card right away (given that you have already been approved instantly), or you can wait until you receive the card and activate then, and then make your purchases when you physically have the card in hand. There is nothing on the minimum that you have to spend on your first purchase to get the $150 credit. Unless the paperwork that comes with the card in the mail says so, I don't think there is a minimum that you need to spend to get the $150 credit, right?

wow you typed out all that? who cares really if you have to spend 1 or 150 to get that free $150? this card comes with 0% for a year, so you will most likely spend at least $150 with this card within a yr.

So does that mean if I just pay the minimum due for first 12 months I wouldn't get charge interest? That makes this deal even hotter. This is my 2nd chase card and I got it today! Other one being chase reward card.

Thanks, signed up, got the card, bought some christmas gifts, but I can't register on the http://www.sonyrewards.com/sonycard site to view my account status. Some nonsense about the email address not matching, even after I copy/paste it into the second field. I called the phone number presented after 3 failure attempts, and got a real live person speaking real Aamerican english with zero button presses and zero wait. Big thumbs up on their support line. The support guy couldn't make it work, so I have to wait for corporate to respond to the problem...
Anyone else have trouble registering their sonycard account for online account access?

For some reason (student loans probably), I am not getting instantly approved for any credit cards these days. If I got the, "you'll get a response in 30 days" business, does this mean I basically didn't get it? I'm getting PO-ed at the number of failed attempts to get a new CC these days.

My last reply was 12/4, and I got this card early last week (Monday or Tuesday, I don't remember exactly). So... approximately 10 days (which included a weekend of course).
