i told him close it, bye

WTF? Rajish from India better be wrong because I just got my card today and ordered some airline ticket expecting my $150 credit soon. The offer clearly states we have till March to make our first purchase!

Someone needs to talk to Clarence from India's supervisor

my guess is they outsource to india for the card activation department. i also spoke to someone in india when i activated my card and i asked him about the $150 offer. he went and checked and didn't sound like he knew what i was talking about. he transferred me to customer support and thankfully it was someone who didn't have an accent and spoke english nice and clear.

he said they keep track of offers by a 3 digit code on the account. my assumption is if you spoke to someone in india, most likely they won't know how to decipher the 3 digit code.

When I got my instant approval I received a temp security code and my exp date and card number, it would not work at Buy.com so I called Chase. When I called I got a computer prompt to activate my card, which I did successfully, did not talk to a person. Card would still not work. When I called customer service and talked to a human about why the security code would not work the CSR rep freaked out. She said you have an activated credit card and you don't even have it? I said nope, just the temp number, which does not work. Anyway I got my card in the mail yesterday, its already activated, but I have not tried to use it yet. I wonder if Sony and Chase ever talk to each other?

I wonder if YOU even read the instructions while applying for the card that said your temporary number supplied after application can only be used at the Sony Store.

I applied prior to Xmas 06 and still have not heard nor have I received NOTHING from it.
Yet I am the owner of two Chase Reward cards at the same time.
WTH takes'em so long is what I want to know?

The $150 should still be valid until the March deadline. Nothing in the terms mentioned that offer expiring until then. January 4th, however, was the last day for double reward points on Sonystyle.com.

january 4th was deadline to apply to get the $150 and 10 points per $1 on sony products. but yeah march is deadline for first purchase.

I applied on the 4th, but instead of an instant approval I just now received approval. (already had 5 Chase cards is why). I hope the date I applied will be used to qualify for the $150 offer.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will get the $150 credit applied. It's only been a month so I'll stay patient.

I had five chase cards before this one and got instant approval... It took about 8 weeks for the last one ($100) so I imagine this one will be about the same.

I'm in the same boat as you videopho, I filled out all the form and whatnot but didn't get an e-mail, word, nothing afterwards but I have no Chase account currently for it to show up on. Am I just SOL?

I have a question.

I applied for this card back in December and was instantly approved and received my card shortly after. However, I just not decided to look at it tonight and get it activated. Since I applied and received my card well before January 4th am I ok? Or b/c I just now activated will I get screwed? I am planning on using the card to make some purchases tomorrow afternoon so if anyone can let me know before I rack up a high balance I would appreciate it.

Offer expires December 29, 2006. First purchase must be made by March 31,2007.

You only have to make a 1 cent purchase to get the reward.

I got in on this deal and went to the grocery store and bought $0.24 worth of candy. 9 days later they credited my account the 24 cents. I called to see why and after talking to 3 people no one could explain why it was credited. One service rep even came back with the, 'we do it to save money, like on paper and stuff' I told him I still received a paper statement saying I owed 0 dollars and he said, 'just don't worry about it'. I hope they count this as my purchase and credit my account in 8 weeks.

I hope you dont get it just for being cute. Come on .24 cents? Why not fill your gas tank up, go home and send out the bill that night. At least then it wouldnt look like you were trying to scam them and ruin any other future deals...
