Are there any penalties for closing your account? I got my $100, spent it... and now I want to close my account.

Will they charge your account $100 if you close it within a year or something?

Actually, I can't find the "close account" link on Chase.com. You probably have to call them.

I don't know about Chase, but I have tried to close credit card accounts in the past and they would not close them without a written notice from me. Give them a call and see what they say.

Signed up for the offer today (only $100 credit now). Once I receive the card I put in $.10 gas or buy a tootsie roll. And then wait for the credit Thanks OP and everyone else for confirming!

I signed up in December and made a $155 purchase Dev 10th. I emailed them a few weeks ago and they said they have up to 120 days to credit my account after a qualifying purchase. It sucks that some people got the credit real quick and it's already been close to 90 days for me and nothing.

Now the offer says "$100 credit after first SONY purchase". I'm guessing you have to buy something Sony directly from them in order to get the credit?

what's normal time to keep the card open after you got $150 credit?
I've paid already my the first statement after I got credit to make my balance == $0.

I don't want play 0% APR game - too risky IMHO.

So don't max out your credit card and then be surprised when they charge a ton of fees for going over the limit. That article has nothing to do with people who keep it under the credit limit.

I've been using my Sony card to make purchases since I got it months ago and it's been great. I use the 0% interest to buy stuff I'm getting rebates on and then I'll cancel it in the 11th month.

I finally canceled mine. No repercussions so far.

I'm probably going to close my account. I had problems using the card -- supposedly it was activated but it wasn't working at the gas station. I couldn't use the $100 credit so I was trying to figure out what to do and luckily my just sitting on the credit payed off -- Chase mailed me a check for $100. I'm going to deposit it and close the account. No good to me if I can't even use the card.

I got mine and got the $150 credit.

A little later, I got something in the mail that said "Spend $100, get $25 back." So I bought a $100 Wal-Mart card. That left me with $75 credit on the card.

The other day, I bought a $75 Best Buy gift card.

So now I've got $175 in gift cards and $0.00 balance on the Sony Card.

I'm canceling.
