I greatly doubt there is that much of a boost to current hardware across the board(from TNT to Current Chipsets). As most things, they tested some of the hardware and one of the boards (probably the ti 4200-4600 series) showed some improvement in one test and they are going to exploit it.

Anyway...if its stable and even a little improvement, its going on my rig.

thanks SupermanCK, my 3dmark2001se330 went from 7941 to 8483 with the new beta drivers, dont think thats even close to 25% but still its free and stable so far . dell p4 1600mhz, 4600ti, 384 pc2100, 40gig7200, xp cdrw and dvd......ect total price thanks to the hot deals=$591 shipped..........i got the ti4600 from best buy for $129-25 coupon they sent for the screwup.

Not such a hot deal . . . these are BETA drivers. Evidently - according to the GH thread, there are "issues" - they may only improve your 3DMark2001 scores.

Spooner, I got the dell back in feb form the hot deals for $408 after $200 mail in rebate which I had to scream to get from them, I just got the rebate back this week but not until I fax them a copy of the certified recite twice, dell finally said there was no way for them to check to see if they received the fax and said they would credit the cash back to the visa, spent at least 6 hours fighting with dell to get my money, 256meg of ram was bought at crucial for around 35 and the DVD drive I got from dell for 38 which they said they would give to me free but they didn't and I don't fell like another 6 hours fighting for 38..............................update on my 3dmark score, I did a little startup tweaking and pulling 9177 3dmarks............................................LilHen, "I thought BBY only sent out the coupons for the screw-up, not sell the actual VisionTek cards for $129", i played best buy like they played me, the manager told me not to expect any more deals like this but ill do it again and again and again, they posted the price and the sent me the credit, i didnt ask for ether but i used them both, sound like a democrap..........hu, vote republican and use your money the way you want..........

DAMN, I love you SupermanCK. Thanks for posting this up. Even though they are beta I decided to try them out. I had a problem with my display. There were all these artifacts in games, on the desktop, and during movies. I spent like 4 hours testing out all my components/drivers. I finally decided to try out these new drivers and KAZAAM problems gone. Seems like the official release of the 30.82 drivers were causing the problems.

my main rig went up ~800 points in 3dmark2001 (from 10580 to 11381) but I noticed some artifacts on the screen that weren't there with their other drivers.

I'll keep these for a bit and see how stable they are

I'm completely agree with this.
I'm guessing they probably just tweaked for those.
I went down 100 points in 3dmark with my geforce2 gts so it's probably just for the newer cards.

but i guess it's mostly good for newer cards...
maybe you can play around with the settings for older generations...
