LAVA HOT!!! Free Video Card Upgrade!!! Nvidia's New 40.41 driver 25% boost (XP/2000 ONLY so far)

I installed those drivers, and had the PC behave very strange - it would basically freeze during/after loading the tray programs in Win2K, if any app was invoked during that time. Also, those drivers limit the maximum refresh rates quite severely for no reason whatsoever - with 30.82's, I could run 16x12 at 100Hz, with the new ones, I only get 75Hz max - what gives? The times I could get them to run without freezing the PC, I noticed they revamped the nView menus, and added an intriguing tool to warp the window display (I presume this is for the monitors which cannot be adjusted with monitor controls), as well as transparent taskbar and dropdown menus. Oh, they also revamped the look of the Properties display - looks OK, they added some menus, and instead of using tabs, use a "side" menu.

Bottom line, I will wait for the release drivers. :frown:

I hope nvidia isn't compromising the quality of their drivers because all the competition from ati.
What happened to all the 3x.xx to 40.40 revisions? Last one I download was 28.xx/29.xx.

I actually changed the monitor type to Default Monitor and rebooted before giving up - same thing. Am using a Geforce2 Ti on a NEC MultiSync FP1370...

i have a geforce3 and my scores went down even though in 3dmark2001, everything looked like it ran way smoother. i tried it in sims and its giving me strange problems. probably gonna go back to older drivers until the next release

HELP!?!?! I have an Nvidia Radeon 8500 and I just upgraded to the new 40.41 drivers... now I get a some kind of graphics error when in windows and it restarts in safe mode! Are these drivers virii? Anyone else had this problem?

I am using my friends computer until I get this straightened out... This really sucks

It looks like there are "issues" with these drivers . . . they are BETA. Just be aware of this.

I really don't understand this whole ATI keeps pushing out drivers with huge performance increases and NVidia is only inching forward each release argument. The reason NVidia drivers don't increase performance by leaps and bounds is because they were already good drivers. ATI's infamous for having horrible drivers, so it's about time they got their act together.
