LCD-DVI or analog setup

Which do you choose. DVI, Analog, or both when setting up your new monitor.

Sure, VGA is fine is that's all you have, but if you have DVI why in the world wouldn't you use it?

DVI... though I have an IOGear KVM switch that is analog only, so I have to toggle back to analog on the LCD and double-click my Scroll Lock to switch systems.

Definately go DVI if your video card and LCD monitor will allow it.

The only reason analog connections are still there is for backwards compatibility. There are still a lot of CRTs going around that don't support DVI input. Definitely go with DVI...

Also a lot of the older video cards don`t have DVI output,however on recent models that`s not a problem.

Well, of course older video cards don't have DVI connections. As well, budget oriented video cards don't have them either. However, most manufacturers have stopped making CRTs. So, it is only a matter of time before the analog standard fades away. Granted, it is integrated into the market heavily, so it will take several years, but the time will come.
