Hello,
I just purchased a 24" monitor and would like to know if ANY monitor is capable of displaying resolutions without interpolation/scaling.
The monitor has a native resolution of 1920 X 1200, and I would like to use it for television and gaming at 1920 X 1080 or 1280 X 720. Is there any way to display these EXACT resolutions with a PC monitor? I realize this smaller resolution will not take up the entire screen dimensions without image manipulation but I would prefer to have a pixel for pixel image. I haven't been able to figure it out.
Is it possible with DVI only? Can't see as how this would really make a difference, but it is something I have not tried yet since I do not have anything with a DVI-output right now, but am willing to go to the trouble to experiment if it will likely work. The monitor is HDCP compliant.
The monitor is the Samsung SyncMaster 245BW. Also does anyone have any pointers to service manuals for monitors? I would like the service manual for this monitor to see if there are some deeper menus to control resolutions and aspect ratios.
