Does anyone have any info on a Samsung 17" 170s TFT LCD monitor. The specs seem good, and the price seems pretty great as well but I can't find any listing of this model number on Samsung's website. The price is $599.00

seems odd that a monitor with such good spec's is analog only. Samasungs are mentioned in a couple of other threads here, though not sure if its the same one as you are looking at.

The 170T TFT LCD is Analog/Digital, and is listed on there website, this model is a 170s, exact same specs only analog only. Sams Club has it for sale. I was going with the Envision but happen to run across this one, spec wise it seems like a kick ass deal, but I can't find any info published on it. Maybe it's a model sold exclusively through Sams Club, it is a Samsung though. They also have a KDS RAD7 17 LCD for 549.00 and I don't remember seeing that before either.

My experience with all the budget barns - and this is by no means limited to electronics - is that they have special model runs made exclusively for them at a certain price point. No-one else carries it so they can offer the low price guarantee with absolute surety. The product usually carries a good name but something is missing to accomodate the low price - Home Depot has made billions on this principle.

Bottom line: if you are paying less, you are getting less.
