LCD Screen

My two years old compaq laptop got a big scratch on the right of the screen because of a power surge. It looks like the screen is torn. Is there a way I can buy a screen alone? how much does it cost? or do i have to throw it away?

You could try Ebay or Compaq.

Compaq is your best bet, as you'll need them to replace the LCD screen, too. Call them up see if they have any extra LCD screen for your laptop sitting around.

Just warning you....Its going to be very expensive. The LCD is the most expensive part of a laptop.

I had a gateway laptop and had to pay about $800 to get a new screen. It was the biggest ripoff and I considered throwing the laptop away because of it.
