I'm here at the Mayo waiting. We stayed with some nice sca folks five minutes away. My alarm failed to go off but, we still got here on time even though no one had a record of the test I was supposed to take until they called the lab an hour later. Healthcare has the worst software on the planet. They also have not received my abdominal scans so, I have them the one photocopy I had brought with me. Spending the day at a hospital sucks.

I've had a number of episodes over the last two months where my procedural thinking was impaired, visual difficulty where my hand isn't where my brain thinks it is, some difficulty with balance and, problems expressing what's going on. The episodes lasted from 20 minutes to several hours. The last prompted me to see the doctor to get a direction on what could be going on. It's kind of snow balled.

Damn Magnus, I am so sorry. I'm pulling for you to beat the snot out of both. Get you some mmj and chaga tea.

Well, I've seen the urologist who recommended I see the neurosurgeon first as the brain would take precedence over the kidney. He's making an appointment with one today and hopefully a medical oncologist. I got bad news of untreated 4 to 6 months. Good thing I'm getting treatment. Lunch time!

I've now seen the oncologist and am waiting to see the neurosurgeon. Waiting to see if surgery or radiation will be done in my head.

One kidney, the left. I am having gamma knife radiation on the three lesions in my brain on Wednesday and neurosurgery on Friday to remove the spots in my brain. No date or time yet for the kidney resection.

I don't do prayers, but I'll hoist an imperial stout in your name this weekend. Good that you we were referred to the gamma knife. It's a very cool technology and as far as cancer treatments go, one of the simplest and most pain free. Best you can do is keep upbeat and put your confidence in modern medicine and the ability for it to kick cancers ass.
