Leadtek 7800GT - only $329

I've been looking for a hot deal on a 7800GT for a while and this seems to be it. Not only does it have a great software bundle with the games and other stuff, it is one of the better performing 7800GTs also. Terrific price, especially when it is sold for $400 at other places besides zzf.

Mmm...how is this hot? XFX's deal on the 7800gt for $299AR + COD2 and 3 other games was hot. I'd say this is warm at best...

I think Leadtek is a better brand in term of performance

XFX has double lifetime warranty. I dont think Leadtech has that. Check on that before you decide.

Warranty doesn't really make or break a card IMO. Unless you plan to RMA a card you've oc'd. I'd say that's a nono. Anyway, Leadtek has a much better track record than xfx from gf6 series. Issues with loose hsf's, abnormally loud fans, and high temps were floating around (most I've read were on the 6600gt agp).

The $40 Rebate + COD2 I'd say definetly would have tipped the ball into the court of the XFX card, but since the $40 Rebate deal is gone for now, and some might not care for COD2 this is a pretty good deal. But in comparison to that deal with the rebate this one is freezing.

When you look at the total package, including the software, this makes this a great deal. This card is worth $400 at other places. Leadtek usually has better offerings of graphics cards and this one is no exception. One of the better designs out there as well.

Also, a three year warranty on a graphics card is enough for me. By the time the warranty is over, I will probably have upgraded the card. Of course, this is not true for everyone. So for those who plan to stick with a 7800GT for 4-5 years, your better option may be evga, BFG or xfx.

Unlike the 6800GT/6800U, the 7800GT has four less pipelines than the 7800GTX.

If you just raise the clock up, you can get pretty close to where the GTX is.

It becomes a question of value/performance and whether 4 more pipes is worth another bill to you. I think these GT cards are a great compromise.

For games out now, 7800GT smokes - BF2 runs 1600x1200 with everything at max. Makes Far Cry look nice & play smooth at that res too. hope this helps - peace

get a evga 7800gt on newegg (the one marked $345) and enter the promotion code "evga20" to get $20 extra off

their card comes with a lifetime warrenty. i was trying to buy this like that yesterday but unfortunatly my bank didnt get my cash in fast enough, so tommorow when it does get in then ill be ordering the higher priced version with a copper heatsink....just missed the COD2 + $50 rebate by 45 minutes now heh
