Leadtek vs BFG 6800GT

Can someone give me some wisdom and help me make this decision.
I just built a new computer and dont really care about wasting a slot next
to my vid card. (last computer was a sff). I don't care how pretty/ugly the
card is.

I like the OC of the BFG.
I like the HUGE heatsink and the filter on the fan of the LEADTEK.
I like the lifetime warranty of the BFG. (what kinda warranty does leadtek have?)

Any insight into the pros and cons would be helpful... if the ultra was readily available i would get
it, since it isnt i think i may jump no the GT bandwagon. So shoot me the info.

Well, I have the beautiful new BFG version of the GT. IT's gorgeous, solid, fast, and well, you said it on the guarantee.

Great support so far (not that anything has gone wrong)....just asking some questions and always get a same-day answer.

I got mine at Compuplus.com for $433.95 to my door.

i would go with the BFG. I have one and i love it and the warranty makes me happy.... plus, i dont think u can get much more overclocking on the huge heatsink... i have overclocked mine to 420/1.2 which is obviously very high... and my temps get up to 80C (which is not very hot at all for these cards)

time man. I cant let myself get ripped like that at 509 though.

I had an order for a Pny and theyr'e out of stock so were the BFG's everywhere so I jumped on a Leadtek 6800GT, the fan and heatsink are huge on that card, will be getting it monday.
I will bench then. I have Doom 3 but didn't install it yet, trying to wait for the new card.

I'm getting the Leadtek as well. Reasons:
1. BFG doesn't seem to be available in Europe.
2. I like Leadtek's cooling - I saw and heard the card in action, and the cooler is not noisy, plus it allows very good overclocking - a friend of mine runs the card at 420-430/1.15-1.2 and it's stable.
3. Leadtek has been known for solid cards with good 2D IQ.
4. Its price is attractive.

BTW, there's another GT available - Gainward. I wonder how good the cooling is on that one... and how much noise those two fans produce.

I got the Leadtek over the BFG simply due to availability.
No complaints. This card is pretty darn big and very quiet.
Graphics look great!

That is crazy the Compuplus price went up by $80 for unit price!!! You would think prices would go DOWN the longer something is out. Availability seems to be less than what it was a couple weeks ago.

Glad I go it when I did. Be patient; it's a great card, but you should NOT pay $500 for the GT. That is too much to justify it, especially since they were selling it for unit price of $419 2 weeks ago.

like 439.... it now appears to be 469. Either I am crazy, or they just raised it 30 bucks.
Either way, I don't think im gonna pay that + shipping.

I bought my bfg 6800 GT from compuplus several weeks ago for like 429 and like 30 minutes after I ordered it they went up like 40 dollars. I haven't been able to test the bloody thing cause I don't have a mobo.... : ( I just collect parts really that's it...

I have the LeadTek. Reasons to buy it:

Big copper heatsink.
I cant hear the fan on it.
Comes with a great bundle: SC: Pandora Tomorrow DVD edition, PoP - The Sands of Time, plus some games not worth mentioning.
Stable @ 410/1.12... haven't tried to push it further.
Comes with WinFox, a program that easily flashes your BIOS.
