hey, i can't find the pvr software off of their site. anyone find it? you can't just install their drivers, you have to also install the pvr software to get the card working with other apps.

All the drivers and apps are here: ftp://203.66.138.20/

Other apps should work w/out the leadtek apps installed. If you have the drivers installed, then you should be all set to use something else (in theory). Only one I've used by itself is dscaler, and it works fine on its own.

Ok, I really need some help here.

I have WinXP, and can't get this damn thing installed correctly.

I got the uploaded drivers I think. I went Here (FTP Site), and went into the Drivers folder, and grabbed the ALL_TV_21213.zip file. I unzipped it, and got the Driver file, and then installed the updated Application files.

My problem is a few things. First of all, real crappy picture. (A lot of static.) But that's just probably on my line. I guess the biggest problem is that when ever I open The LeadTek PVR software, it ALWAYS crashes on me when I close it. Everytime. I JUST reinstalled WinXP last week. With all the necessary updates, and I thought that these files I grabbed today were updated as well.

Any ideas? I'm gonna read through this entire thread again to see if I missed it, but I don't know what else to do.

KeyserSoze,

Sorry if my post misled you.

Don't go into the "drivers" folder.
Surf into the tv_tuner folder. Current driver folder # is up to 030411 and the pvr software is from 2003/02/06 and it's in the same folder ftp://203.66.138.20/tv_tuner/ under winfastPVR

Good luck. You can always go to leadtek.com and find things from there too. Just thought the FTP route would be easier. Didn't know they had confusing choices. It would seem logical to check the "drivers" folder for drivers. Sheesh.

"upgrade to winxp"? come on now....I wouldn't consider that an upgrade.

after looking at the same ui since win95, winxp was a welcome sight for my eyes. and i no longer have to dual boot win98se/win2k just to be able to play games and actually do some work on the same computer.

but to each his own.

Good luck. I tried these drivers and while my pvr works without problems, I'm still unable to get the scheduler on titantv to work properly. I tried contacting leadtek support about my "Sorry the data is invalid error" and they just recommend that I get the latest driver and application...which I already had. So I responded back and they gave me the exact same answer.

The card is great but this scheduler problem is driving me crazy.

Try installing the app from ftp://203.66.138.20/tv_tuner/WinFast PVR/EPG/Titan TV/ALL_TVAP_30130.zip

Even if you have tried installing from a simular or exactly named file, please try this one. Leadtek does a terrable job packaging up these updates.

This is a software problem, not a driver problem. The original software version that came on the CD did this. You have to get the latest version of the leadtek PVR software. The drivers really haven't been updated....the PVR software has.

Download the latest drivers here, the 193kb file.
Then download the latest software from here, the file is about 13mb.

Update the drivers first. Then install the PVR software. It should work...good luck!

When I got mine, I did what ChoppedBroccoli said. Everything then worked fine except the sound would cut out. I got rid of Norton Antivirus checking Messenger for viruses, then everything worked perfect.

My sound cut out too after getting the latest drivers/app. I downloaded the latest drivers for my audigy from Creative and that solved the problem w/o having to disable NAV.

I believe the Norton caveat applies only to Windows XP.

The answer is "Yes." Everybody I know that has this problem is running Win2000 SP3, in my case and Limsandy's case, version 5.00.2195.

I tried the app from that location and I'm still receiving the same error. I'm getting desparate here.

Out of curiosity, where is the schedule data saved on the hard drive? I looked in C:\program files\winfast\wftvfm and I don't see anything that looks like it should hold that data (plus when I manually scheduled, the file dates of the files did not change).

It puts the data in the registry. Have you tried completely removing the old install, including the registry keys then install from that install?

I'm losing all my hair trying to figure this out. Looked around at tv-cards.com and didn't find much, except some links to alternate drivers. I couldn't make 'em work right with the pvr app. Speaking of which, the person who asked for a card comparison between the leadtek and another card might want to check out tv-cards.com for a comparison.

I did make some progress w/ the software, tho. I used third party software to keep the scheduler from loading at startup. If there's an option to disable it from the leadtek app, I missed it.

Weird
I have a long shut down time too and I am using Win2k SP3 but NOT this card - I have a ATI TV Wonder VE
Also of note, I have the long shutdown problem on another PC w/ 2k & SP3 that does not have any TV card but it is using a Ghost of the one w/ the card that was made after the card was installed.....

I have not tried uninstalling and then deleting the registry keys. That was actually something that I wanted to avoid having to do, but it seems like I will. Any suggestions? Should I just search for Winfast in the registry editor and then delete the found keys? Or perhaps something else? Thank you for your help.

I had messed around with my install quite a bit. I was trying to get it to consistently record. In my case it would not always record shows if the pvr was closed down. So I tried every one of the installs from the leadtek ftp site. Never fixed it, but I did have to remove and then delete the registry keys at one time It is now all re installed and working ok. I finally think I may have discovered why it was not recording properly. I accidentally screwed up my Norton Internet security software (including antivirus). To the point where i could no longer install or uninstall it. So I have just disabled it completely until I reinstall xp someday. Anyway since doing that I have not noticed a single show not recording properly. So maybe I have fixed that..... time will tell.

I've got a WinFast(R) PVR (Application) key and a WinFast(R) TV2000 XP / VC100 XP(Application) key. Do you think I could just delete the WinFast(R) PVR (Application) key since this is the old application? Or would I be safer just deleting the entire Leadtek folder?

Since you are doing a full re install deleting the whole key should not be a problem. As long as you don't have any other leadtek software

You can always export it first as a backup, just in case.

The windows uninstall keys are in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

They'll al be named in alpanumeric numbers so you'd have to select each one and look at the values on the right to find the correct one

This won't prevent startup services associated w/ it from running but will remove it from Add\Remove and keep it from being detected by a future setup
