In other news the new T-Force is pretty epic on quite a few champs, the revised phage passive makes it a better chase item by quite a bit and the increased damage is most certainly welcome on quite a few champs. Jax is in a pretty damn strong state currently, between a T-Force and BotRK very few things can deal with him 1v1 or even 2v1.
Also LolNexus doesn't do much in my matches aside from put people who are in a foul mood because of a lost game in a rage state over duos and leagues that the match has occasionally. I just use it the way crownjules does for my 3's matches, just ID whoever is most likely the best player and just focus on keeping him down. In solo queue it doesn't make much difference aside from identifying who the duo on their team is and what kind of impact that will have on the game, for instance a duo top + jungle will likely either have a lot of jungle pressure or pretty much none as they'll either try to snowball the top or realize that he can hold the lane and have him just focus on other lanes (since most people believe themselves to be better than where they are currently).
If you're looking for an easy way to climb but not really accustomed to straightforward roams then look seriously into champs with global pressure as they allow you to influence other lanes directly with mapwide ganks or just from the fear that you could interfere with their lane. Karthus, Panth, Shen, TF, Nocturne are great solo queue champs for the most part, Shen isn't as big an influencer as the others can be though he's still very strong (but more powerful in coordinated plays).
