Apparently Playbook fans are already pushing this as the "native" email app...

DBZ didn't you yourself link to the Android app player in the other thread where we I pointed out the Playbook's absence of a native email client?

...So?

As reasonable people we are able to identify shortcomings. We are also able to identify positive things, such as this.

All you RIM-hating types can come up with is "what about native e-mail? Huh? HUH!?". We're aware that native e-mail is missing. We agree that it sucks and is a failure on RIM's part. But what sense is there in getting bent out of shape over one issue?

Who is bent out of shape?

I was the first person who replied to the other thread with praise for RIM's FIPS certification.

I'm simply pointing out that the Android App Player isn't a valid substitute for a native email client, as implied by DBZ in the other thread. A reasonable person would agree, but all you hear from some of our loyal RIM fans is... who needs native email, I use the web browser, that should be good enough for anyone, right? RIGHT?

At any rate, the Android App Player is certainly a welcome and useful addition to the Playbook platform, even if it is no substitute for native apps that were promised by RIM's executives...

Was I responding to you, or even to anything about email? It's only epic trolls like yourself that keep banging on about email apps on PB at all. I'm not sure why you even care, unless you're actually going to buy a PlayBook, and if not then you're straight up trolling, no question about it.

I'll let you explain your own posts. However, it seems clear to me that you were suggesting that users should look to the Android App Player for email on the Playbook.

I'm not sure why you even care, unless you're actually going to buy a PlayBook, and if not then you're straight up trolling, no question about it.

Why do you feel that only Playbook owners are qualified to comment on that product's merits (or lack thereof)?

Weird - I thought that the Android Player wasn't going to be standalone, but simply a very minimal wrapper around Android OS apps submitted to the BlackBerry App World. I hope that permutation of the VM still takes shape, as I don't really have a need for Android on my PlayBook.

Can anyone give a rundown of what apps will install and work on the Android App Player? What RDP app, for instance? Is anyone keeping a big list?

Also, anyone got a link to the BAR file itself?
