None of those features you mention are really the trademark of a game being consolized, at least to me. Hollywoodized maybe? The video is terrible quality at youtube but based on what I saw there, it looks like a fun game so far. Whether or not they should call it Deus Ex is another thing.

Goes into 3rd person far too often, looks down right annoying. It also looked like when he broke through the wall it automatically killed the guy on the other side, does that mean it's impossible to use the feature for those of us that don't want to kill everyone we encounter? Lastly, he briefly mentioned quick time events in the second video...

I thought the point of Deus Ex 3 was to undo the damage of #2. Maybe the goal is to do so much more damage, there by making Deus Ex 2 look a lot better.

Seems Deus Ex 3 will be like Splinter Cell Conviction: completely missing the point.

The quick time events are definitely a symptom of consolization, but the rest of it I would say is just them trying to be fancy and stylish. I think you gotta wait until they show the rpg elements like stats, inventory or dialog before making judgement.

I played maybe 15 minutes of the Metal Gear series, and even I feel like this smells too much like MGS.

I miss the original Deus Ex. Why is it so difficult to reimagine a series without abandoning what made the original a classic? IT'S NOT THAT HARD, DEVS!

It has no stats anymore as far as I know, only augs, but they have changed the way they work. On top of this, the game uses health regen and it's not an optional aug like Deus Ex that entails some penalties, it's just boring old health regen. The stealth is also only using cover, you can not hide in shadows anymore.

Aside from all of the already mounting issues I'm just hoping they don't force you to use the horribly cliche and redundant 3rd person take down moves. Just give us some sort of option for melee knock outs in the first person view, I'm hoping to never see that 3rd person crap when I play through it.

To be fair, I thought it was going to suck before watching the video. All the video did was show all of the information I already had, but now it was all in game exactly as annoying as I thought it would be.

Well, thats it then. There is absolutely no reason for me to ever play a new PC game ever again. Everything I could ever look forward to has been shattered. Now its just replaying old shit.

Its nothing amazing. Imagine some of the scenes in the trailer as the game. Thats the gameplay. its annoying the shit out of me. The game broke immersion every 5 seconds to give a cool animation of something happening.

Sure beats a neckbeard.

And the camera is a little close. That's what stuck a fork in Resident Evil 5 PC for me, the camera made me feel like a terrier in a tunnel chasing rodents. And I'm not claustrophobic.
