I too find myself saying... I wish they would have been more in depth, but then I say...$10 bucks. I took an MCSE class on Windows 2000 Server at a New Horizons for $1795.00, so I have been through most of this stuff before. I think that if I had not taken that class, these videos would have been plenty indepth for me. It was still a great refresher for me. The more you go over something the better it sticks. I actually wish that I would have seen these videos before I took the class. I would have been more prepared. Going into a class like that cold makes you wonder if you wasted $1800 snappers. So for a newbee or someone just getting started, these videos are more than adequate.....Actually a very hot deal! For the seasoned pro, maybe just for novelty sakes if at all....After all, It's only $10 bucks. They are pretty well done. I might have to check out those CBT nuggets, are they worth the $400? For $10 I'll try anything, but $400 makes me think. I love knowledge!

Can these videos be burned to a CD? or even DVD?

You can burn them to CD or DVD, but you cannot play them on your TV through DVD unless you somehow convert the files into VOB's. Standard DVD's don't play windows media files.

I don't plan on going to New Horizons again. I feel kind of violated. I had to give it a try tough, I really wanted to learn this stuff. Now in retrospect, I would have used more online video and book resources. There is so much available. It's just hard to know where to start. I thought hands on instructor based training would blow everything else out of the water....oops. Live and learn. I know now there error of my ways. Peace,

I , as a beginner, find these videos plenty indepth. I guess if you all ready know this stuff, then of course it's easy. Like anything else. I have only been through 3 of them, and my head hurts from learning. Alot of this stuff seems to relevant with Windows XP too. I hope I find this server stuff easy some day too.

I listened about 10 videos already and I always get confused on the disk striping and volume stuff. This video definitely help me straighten things out. As for the IIS 6 is superb. For $10 its well worth it.

Yeah, that disk & volume RAID stuff can be confusing. Microsoft really want you to know it well for the MCSE exams, and I don't know why. IMHO I would use a hardware RAID solution anyways. The have come way down in price. They even have IDE ones now, and are built into alot of motherboards. Who would even use a software solution for that anyway?

I have been reading this forum on and off now for about 2 years, and I have never before been compelled to actually post anything until now. I have watched most of these videos now, and I have to say wow! I cannot believe they are only $10 bucks.

What tool did you use to encode/decode the WM format ?

I would like to try that on some CDs I am making for customers
then I could make a decent rate on my "work" and not have it copied willy-nilly.
I do "self help" literature and the like really boring .

How many videos are there and how big are the videos?
The resolution is kinda low.

There are 16 videos plus the free one. It says weekly free download, so maybe there will be more. Might have to check back occasionally. The whole download was like 75MB, and the resolution seems great at full screen. I am running 1024x768.

I don't understand what you mean by low resolution? They play just fine full screen for me too. 800x600.
