Willam Defoe as a Mexican drug lord in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" why couldn't they get a mexican? In fact Willam Defoe in 99% of what he's in.
William Dafoe as John Clark in Clear and Present Danger. Nothing against Dafoe, but that was a terrible call in casting.
Liev Shrieber actually made a decent Clark/Kelly in Sum of All Fears, even though the movie was mediocre.

Fuck that, he's awesome.

Soon I will be re-watching Antichrist; he was awesomne in that. How about Platoon? One of the greatest death scenes of all time. Oh yeah, Shadow of the Vampire? Amazing.

Bah, you fail.

Actually, as some one else mentioned Orlando Bloom wasn't miscast in Troy, everything else yes, but not troy. Paris was a total little bitch and I totally buy Orlando as a little bitch. Sorry Orlando, we all have our strengths...I'm afraid yours is portraying little bitches princes that should be disowned by their families for letting their dicks get out of control. I mean, you hate that fucking character when you read about him. He basically destroys the Trojans entire civilization for some pussy. Yes, Helen of Troy was supposedly super hot but he is a prince so he already had more ass than he knew what to do with but nooooo...he has to have the one woman that will destroy his entire civilization. Worst of all, it looked like he'd already got to bang her in Troy. He should have just left her ass in Greece.

ANYWAY...how about any native american character in any movie from the 60s?

That's true, but his acting is just so bad in that movie. I mean it's horrendous.

I thought he fit his part good in From Dusk Til Dawn. Or his little spot in Pulp Fiction.

at least one good scene in Reservoir Dogs.

Mr. Brown: O.K., let me tell you what Like a Virgin's about. It's all about this cooze who's a regular fuck machine, I'm talking morning, day, night, afternoon, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick.
Mr. Blue: How many dicks is that?
Mr. White: A lot.
Mr. Brown: Then one day she meets this John Holmes motherfucker and it's like, whoa baby, I mean this cat is like Charles Bronson in the Great Escape, he's digging tunnels. Now, she's gettin' the serious dick action and she's feeling something she ain't felt since forever. Pain. Pain. It hurts her. It shouldn't hurt her, you know her pussy should be Bubble Yum by now, but when this cat fucks her it hurts. It hurts just like it did the first time. You see the pain is reminding the fuck machine what it once was like to be a virgin. Hence, "Like a Virgin."

Worst casting ever Sir John Gielgud as Chang in Lost Horizon. Yes the same actor who portrayed Arthur's butler portraying an Asian man in a musical about the lost paradise called Shangri-la. link

Honorable Mentions:

Charlton Heston as Ramon "Mike" Vargas in a Touch of Evil link

Kevin Costner as Robin Hood (drops the horrible attempt at a British accent after 15 minutes),
link

Rosie O'Donnell as Betty Rubble, Betty wasn't a fatty.

Timothy Olyphant in Hitman. He just totally wasn't Agent 47. Really they probably needed an unknown in that role, very pale, very tall, and very malevolent in feeling. The IMDB boards are full of other people that have noticed this crazy casting. Olyphant has been fine in other stuff before, but this was terrible casting.

When my buddy told me about the movie and said they guy from gone in 60 seconds was 47, naturally I thought to myself big white bald guy, must be Vinny Johnson. Sounds like it could work.

Heston was a bad call for a Mexican, but ToE was great!

He's perfect for his roles because every movie hes some lame little twerp, so he doesn't even have to act, but I still hate Michael Cera viciously.

And I love Gangs of New York but why anyone would pick Cameron Diaz for a serious role is a mystery to me, her accent is pretty abysmal and she doesn't really look remotely desirable with that hair and the period clothing.

And in response to the Prince of Persia miscast, I always thought Ryan Reynolds might have done well in it. In the game, the Prince was kind of funny/snarky which Reynolds is great at. Though I don't know if the movie kept that tone and if Reynolds can handle serious/action bits.

Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible or Knight and Day or anything else in that genre. Seeing him as an action hero is funnier than anything Seth Rogen has ever done.

So true! Oh, look, it's little Tommy Cruise! Also, seeing him try to hold up his dramatic end against Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men is laughable!

He is note perfect in Rain Man.

I give him this, he was.

But I don't get the hate for Nick Cage at all. I love the man.

One of my all time LOL moments is Tony Curtis playing a Roman and speaking with a Brooklyn accent. I think it was in Spartacus, but I can't find a clip of the scene on the web. It's hilarious! He did get ambiguously gay with Laurence Olivier in that movie, though.

D: I totally forgot that! I was raging through most of that flick b/c of her.

makes the film mostly unwatchable for me.

Mickey Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi in Breakfast at Tiffany's is almost unbearable. I can't believe no one else said it. It has to be the #1 horrible casting ever.

Gary Oldman as Drexl Spivey in True Romance. Fortunately it was a very small role.
