I got this chair when there was a rebate for it a couple of weeks ago. However, the rebate is back starting today (7/20). The chair's list price is $299! It's a pretty nice chair. The back is pretty high (my head rests against the top of the chair nicely). There's also a lock for the tilt which comes in pretty handy.

1. Go to OfficeDepot and search for 680119 - $69.99
2. Add $5.01 worth of items to bump your total to $75
3. Use 20 off 75 coupon (use your favorite coupon website)
4. $20.99 mir can be found here
Total: 69.99-20-20.99 = 29 shipped right to your door

[Alternative... if you don't wanna add $5.01 worth of items, you can skip steps 2 and 3 and just add a 15 off 50 coupon instead. However, I personally prefer adding 5.01 worth of items and using the 20 off 75 coupon)

Office depot also has some nice furniture for cheap. If you have gone into any office depot stores, they have Fusion brand furniture. It's not the highest quality stuff you can get, but it's cheap and fits my needs as a student. I believe the bookcase is also on this week's OD ad. Here are the sku's of the 2 items that I got:
Fusion Computer Desk - $50 - 850600
Fusion bookcase (2 levels) -$10 - 850564

This is a really nice chair for the price. I own one and have been very happy with it.

However, there's no way in hell OD could sell this for $299. It's in no way a "fancy" executive chair. The seating surfaces are leather, but all other surfaces (side, back) are vinyl.

Great place to plop your butt down for the price, though!

Is it the chair that you can remove the armrest and still can use? Furniture@Works have two styles - one is a two-piece held together by the two arm rest and one where the seat and the back is one piece and you can remove the armrests. Any idea?

I couldn't find the fusion funiture. However, the chair does look tempting..

what's with the recommend level of use?

The leather on cheap chairs like these usually rip within a year.

Not worth it in my opinion.

The seat and the back of this char are 2 separate pieces. I don't know if you can take the handrests off, but my guess is probably not.

Don't think so, because the back and seat are attached to the handrests, which is what keeps them in place.

Local OD manager told me they are getting some new furniture lines and thus are closing out some items. I purchased the "Milano" executive chair for $60. It is very nice but as always YMMV.

I also have the chair posted in this thread and have no complaints--definitely worth the $$$.

I purchased this task chair. Works fine for what it is and it's price. The adjustable height back keeps sliding down as you can't screw it any tighter. I may need to drill a hold and use a screw to hold it.
go for it!

ckmoocow - You might want to change your total price to $75 instead of $69 its a bit misleading.

My break down $75.22 - $20 *coupon* - $20.99 *MIR* + $4.56 tax = $38.79 shipped.

Chair - 680119- $69.99
OD paper clips - 429266 $0.25
Plasitc paper clips - 617738 $4.98

I purchased two chairs through this rebate already (previous years). One of them had the back and the seat as a single piece and I tossed my armrests away so I can slide it under the desk when not in use. The other one, I can't do it because the armrest hold the back and the seat together.

As far as reliability. I don't know what the $299.00 chair can do, but these "low price" chairs lasted more than two years now and still ...get kickin' around, no problem!

Anyone know about the fabric chair? Any good? The $60.xx chair with the massager i just got is ok...it's not super great. I think the cushion on the ass will probably not feel so good in a couple months. I just want to take care of my ass. Is that too much to ask?

Well I was just at OD today because they had a sale on this chair for $49 and OM had a similar one for $39, but didn't get around to going to OM. Wanted to test them both out before deciding on one.

I sat in this chair and also sat in the other $200 chairs, and to tell you the truth the $200 chair's were not great at all for the price. Both had same stiffness and I was expecting Lazy Boy chair comfort from a $200 chair but it wasn't. So for $29 this is a great deal if you were in the market for this type of chair because I know people who probably spent $100 on it.

The head rest at the top doesn't really do much, isn't removable, and even when I layed back it wasn't much of a pillow( I'm 6'1).

Fabric chair is pretty much the same as the leather one only it's fabric, the material isn't that nice(read: I wouldn't lean back on it with my shirt off lol) and IMO yer better off with the leather one.

I'm gonna get one of these because right now I am using a plastic chair :frown:.

THANKS ckmoocow!!!!!!

Damn all the office supply stores!
I just bought this chair last week... now there's a rebate!

Just bought a Cendyne 52x24x52 CD-RW few weeks ago
and that thing also gets cheaper...

I just have the worse timing when it comes to hot deals recently...

BTW, the chair is comfortable and easy to assemble.

the one at OM sucks. not worth the saving $10 IMO. i went and tried it - not comfortable. tried both the leather and cloth at OD, though, both were nice. if anything, cloth felt a little more comfortable to me....

I'm assuming you bought this item in store for $69.99 w/o any rebates?
If you still have the OD store reciept and the chair's box/upc, you can do this:
1. Buy the chair online (w/ the online coupon) and have it shipped to your home.
2. When it arrives, take off the shipping label (carefully), take this new chair to the store you bought your first one for, and return it for the original price you paid
3. Since you have a reciept that is dated within the valid rebate period, you can use that to send in the rebate. You can also cut off and mail in the upc of the chair's original box, since all upc's are the same.

I believe this is legit b/c there's a 14 day return policy on OD furniture anyways. So you COULD return the one you currently have and buy a new one, but that'd be a lotta work. You'd have to dissemble it, repackage it, and reassemble the new one. Basically, this is doing the same thing, but a lot less work for you. I hope this helps!

I used 69.99 instead of 75 to calculate the price b/c I bought 5 dollars worth of mechanical pencils and eraser refills. And I would have spent that extra 5 bucks some other time anyways, so I didn't count that into the cost of the chair. Sorry if I was misleading though...

i think this is the chair that was free, or maybe i got paid to buy it last year, my father-in-law uses it, he weighes in at about 300+ lbs, chair is still good, i bought it, but i like my old chair better, although my old chair is old, i just recovered the arms, but this chair is well worth 30 dollars, imho

You can use a blowdryer to heat up the glue and soften it a little, making it easier to peel off.
