How does the size of this mouse compare to a wired Intellimouse Explorer 3.0?

Price is down to $18.99... I think it's time for me to buy one. The left mouse button on my IntelliMouse wired is going soft (hopefully, MS will replace it) but this looks like a nice alternative.

Say one on my Desk Top, and another on my laptop in a nearbye room, will they interfere with each other?

Been looking at this mouse a long time, the V2 battery life is supposed to fantastic....

You can set a different channel from each mouse.

Did anyone notice that this is a refurbished item? Hmm....Does that even matter? Does refurbished mouse suck more then the brand new ones? I want one but wonder if I should just save up for a logitech bluetooth set. And what's up with the CueCat bar code reader? Any good use for a bar code reader? What can you do with it? Hehe, want to know so that I might get one too. Cheers!

CueCat : a completely useless RadioShack gimmick from the late 90s. It was free and was supposed to be used RadioShack catalog. It came with (the 1st) spyware, that sends back your browsing habits to RadioShack.

RadioShack had ceased its CueCat 'operation'. The maker DC co. dead(?).

With an easy mod, it can be transformed into a fully functional barcode reader.
It doesn't require any driver (PS2 ver). Just scan a barcode and it'll read & type the numbers.

I'm using mine to scan the ISBN codes of old textbooks (selling them off ebay). Damn school bookstore, wouldn't accept them back.

You probably don't need it if you're asking what can you use it for.
If you just want to play around with it, check ebay. Plenty available for less than a buck.
Remember it was free.

The "leather" is more like vinyl with a textured finish. No more sweat-making than any other finish.

The only thing I don't like about it is the very stiff center button (on the wheel) -- much more force is required compared to a regular wired Intellimouse Explorer -- and the fact that you have to have the tilt wheel perfectly centered in order for a center-click to register. It's very easy to have the tilt mechanism slightly off to one side, and it will miss a click in this case. Annoying if you center-click on links in FF to open them in a new tab.

That said, I have both this and the old mouse plugged in, and I prefer to use this one.

Anyone having trouble with this mouse? I bought one last night for $14 at OM. I jumped on it, since its a great deal.

My old mouse was a Corded Intellimouse Explorer. The new one doesnt seem to be as accurate as the corded one. Say I want to hightlight something, it feels like I have to put more effort into positioning the wireless mouse. Another thing is the middle mouse button. I use the middle mouse button to close Firefox webpages, but the Wireless mouse has a hard to press middel button.

i installed the latest Intellimouse software. I remember the old versions having a setup tool that you run thru to "learn" how you use a mouse. I dont see it on the new version (Intllimouse 5.2)

If anyone has suggestions, please post. I really want a wireless mouse, but I cant use this the way its working...

I didn't even try using mine.

Just pressing the buttons "dry" convinced me to re-pack it and store it away.

I've been using it for a week. So far so good. It's responsive enough for me, haven't try to play game yet. It's kinda bulky and heavy (due to 2 AA batteries inside). It's just ok. Not really speacial. I just ordered MX510 last night following the hot deal link.

Corded mouse is the best!

Btw, it's NOT REAL leather. I think it's vinyl.
