I was looking for a leather messenger bag and this one looked pretty good. The website,overstock, says its 86% off and I used a coupon that I found on currentcodes.

For the Most part Samsonite makes good products, so I will go for it and enjoy my partially leather, partially plastic bag

Not trying to threadcrap, but is this really leather? It is described as being "leather and ballistic-look PVC construction." PVC=polyvinyl chloride=plastic. The only place in the description where it says leather is used is "leather-reinforced squared bottom for stable standing."

of course it's not real leather.
real leather wallets and gloves are already more than $20.
so how can a thing that big be $25 only.
it's synthetic leather.

I'm thinking that it is real leather...perhaps it has some kind of PVC/plastic inner frame.

If this bag has a suggested price of $180 it had darn sure better be leather. No one would pay that kind of money for a plastic bag.

From the pictures and description, it looks to me like it is constructed of pvc, with a leather-reinforced bottom, leather carry handle, and flap over leather top. I am pretty sure it is real leather and not synthetic. Don't they have to explicitly mention if it's not real leather?

I agree with mchurchm, leather on the handle, flap and bottom, but thats it. May look cheap compared to an all leather bag, but the price is reasonable.

This bag may not be good for those who want to put a notebook PC in it, because the description doesn't specifically say it has a compartment for a laptop.

On Tuesday, I picked up a beautiful all leather Calvin Klein briefcase (has laptop section) at Staples B&M in northern NJ for $40. They had some nice messenger bags too. This was hot, but I did not post because it may have only been at the one location. The list on the tags was $225-$255. If anyone is interested, it might be worth stopping by a Staples or give your local store a call. Wasn't available on line.
