Leather steering wheel cover

I ordered a wheelskin leather steering wheel cover for my 08 CRV. The instruction manual says it should take about an hour. I've read on some other forums that it can be a PITA, and other's have said that it's quite easy.

I have wheelskins on all 4 of our vehicles. It does take about an hour, not hard, but tedious. Just follow their instructions and it will turn out nice.

I agree.
It's not difficult but it is a tedious job.

I installed one once on my old Continental. When I pulled off the old nasty leather steering wheel wrap, I found out the padding was integrated into it...and the new cover had none. So I went to Home Depot and got some foam electrical wall-socket backings (I guess that's what they were) it was basically a sheet of thin foam with cutouts / perforations for standard 2-outlet electrical wall sockets. Wrapped the steering wheel in those, and then put the wheelskin on...fit like a glove over that foam stuff, and felt great.

Pain in the ass but worth it, expect to have some scraped/cut up hands at the end

If it's the one you have to tie on, it's a bitch, but only because it takes forever and you have to wrap towels around your fingers to pull the strings sufficiently tight. It looks nice if you put in some effort, and its super sweet to have a thicker steering wheel.
