Leave AC adapter plugged into wall?

I just got a new cell phone and was wondering if I can just leave the AC adapter permanently plugged into the wall rather than unplugging it whenever it is not charging the phone. It is annoying to have to reach down and plug it in every time I want to charge the phone. Will it hurt it in anyway to just leave the actual adapter plugged in all the time?

It's never bothered either of my phones' adaptors. I leave them both plugged into my surge strip 24/7.

That's what I figured... it isn't actually closing the circuit so there can't be any current/power running through it, right?

Doesn't use any power if the phone isn't plugged in (assuming it has no LED or anything). Just leave it plugged in....

Actually all those wall warts use a few watts of power just plugged in, even if they're not charging anything. It's basically due to the fact that they're not 100% efficient in stepping down the house voltage. But yeah, it won't cause any harm to leave them plugged in, although your electric bill will be a bit higher.

just leave them in. everybody does.

they do use a tiny bit of electricity and generate some heat but in most cases both should be negilible
