Leaving for Hawaii

Hawaii is not really too hot (early 90s at worst and right now much lower), but you still should use sunscreen here (or anywhere) to lessen skin damage and cancer risk There are not lots of shells on the shore, but different beaches have different types of sand.

How's the Waikiki aquarium? I really would like to go but I'm wondering if it'll be worth it.

i remember it is close to the hotels/beach, i can't remember if we went into it. i like aquariums, it has probably changed a lot in 15 years anyway

Yeah, I live on Oahu. Born and raised.

I can't say there are too many shells on any of the beaches. Waikiki definately not. You might be able to find some if you go snorkeling but I'd say even then they may be hard to find (Been quite a while since I've been). As far as barren beaches, they're a little harder to come by on Oahu. Your best bet for less crowded beaches would be on the north shore but they're not the easiest to find. Better still would be a neighbor island.

I've read about student ids and stuff...I'll be carrying it everywhere with me! The band is marching in the King Kamahea (some K guy, united Hawaiian islands) parade and we're also doing a concert at the USS Missouri. There are tons of other things we're doing but I don't have the itinerary memorized yet.

Sounds great The Kamehameha Parade is awesome. They drape beautiful lei on the King's statue, too.

Awesome! Are you going to it? If so, we're the "Farmington Black Knight Marching Band" and we have white uniforms. I won't be in the parade, I quit band, but my sister will be

I was not planning on going this year, but I have seen them in the past. Iif my family ends up doing so I will look for them. I am sure your trip will be fantastic
