the rule right now allows 2 steps... which basically allows 3...

Jordan got away with 2 all the time... never saw 3 that i remember.

Yeah that video I posted earlier has a ton of Jordan highlight dunks, in which extra steps are the most useful, and they are a mix of zero, one, or two steps from a dribble. No three steps that I saw, and that'd be where you'd see them, him getting the speed to get way the f up there.

No level of Dirk choking will ever compare to Heat choking. These guys got together before the season and made a show of how easy it was going to be to win a championship, no wait two, no wait three, no wait four, no wait...

Silly Heat.

Well, technically 2.5 steps, now everyone does 3.

a 1 step rule would be a pivot, which is given...

a 1.5 step rule would give you a one step take off and lifting of the back leg and not landing.

a 2 step rule would require landing and not lifting the back leg, essentially turning it into a 2.5 step because other than the jump stop, it is not possible. (the jump stop is impossibly difficult to judge anyways)

It's the hardest rule to enforce because it is so fast.

Wasn't prior to Jordan it was technically a 1.5 step rule but they just called it a 2 step rule?

I asked Lebron if he had change for a dollar. He gave me 75 cents, because he didn't have a 4th quarter.

Lebron took his talents to South Beach. Unfortunately those talents didn't follow him to Miami

I will say it again, I'M A CELTICS FAN and without Rondo being injured, 100% it would have been Boston with the ring right now.

Celtics are garbage and you're an idiot. You've proven you know squat about basketball.

This past season is the reason that people lost respect for him because of his antics. In his defense, him not winning a ring @ CLE was because of the other players. He literally had no help over there. Even Antawn Jamison hardly helped him at all.

yeah, he seemed like much more of a mature, class act when he first entered the league. he was green, sure, but still better than most.

I think he is unquestionably the most talented player in basketball, skillwise, but I lost almost all respect for him with his increasing soccer tactics on the court and general dickholeishness off the court.

It's difficult for a young guy to suddenly receive so much fame, accolade, money, groupies, and such, but plenty of people have handled the same pressures with a much cooler, more humble head.

I think if he just learns to keep his head in the game more, he would easily be the best overall player. I mean--he should be. He was much more of a team player coming out of highschool that it seems he has become, but he's not necessarily selfish.

His problem, I guess, is piss-poor coaching up to this point.

and to be fair, "The Decision" was not his idea. ESPN approached him with the idea for that marketing whore. Sure, it may have been a class move to reject the idea, but I'm sure few out there would have. It's possible that he just doesn't have any solid mentors in his life. He's probably letting his agent lead him down the road of leechery and self-destruction.

Are you his PR agent? Holy shit. He's how old now? Time to man the fuck up and take responsibilities for his OWN FUCKING choices. He's a man child, sorry life doesn't auto get you everything without making your own choices and your own trail.

Because he was a fan favorite so people wanted to see him win. When you're the golden boy and finally win, even if you lost for a decade plus, people will tend to only focus on the wins. Ity's a story of glory and how a legend battled his way to the top. On the flip side if the Heat actually get their shit together and win lets say 3-4 rings in a row. Since James is the most hated dude in basketball the typical person will still only focus on how he choked early in his career and say his rings mean nothing because he was a choke artist who got lucky. James will NEVER be able to win in eyes of the people who watch basketball. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. In your example of Elway, Dirk would basically be the basketball equivalent of John. The people who watch B-Ball have totally forgotten how his choking was a thing of legends.

The fact Lebron was MVP 2 years in a row and people still carry on about how he's the most overrated player ever and that he sucks, says it all.

It took Jordan several years to win against far superior, veteran teams, that were much better coached. Bulls vs Lakers, Bulls vs Pistons in Jordan's early years are just like this finals series.

Even so...why did no one hate Jordan, outside of the fact that he was unstoppable? He was universally respected, as basketball player by other players and fans, and only hated under the light that no could stop him.

Not so with Lebron--he came into the league with a lot of good will, I think. There was the assumption of hype, yes, and the haters that just love to see hype blow up, but as far as skills go, it's pretty clear that he far surpassed the hype. That is astonishing, when you think about it.

Now...what happened to that good will? Where did it go? Oh, I know--King James tossed it in the dustbin through his own actions, his own hubris, his own dickhole personality. I am very much NOT SORRY that King Dingleberry is not the Golden Boy that you want everyone else to think he is.

I am 98% certain that you, of all people, assume that the hate is simply b/c he is black, and people want to see Dirk succeed only b/c hs is a white man in the NBA. I don't think it's a stretch to assume, as we've seen this argument stupidly published before.

I'm sorry, Quebert, that Lebron has done everything on his own to tarnish the goodwill that he could well have had. I wanted the guy to be as good as he could be, but until he grows up and stops his 12 year-old streetball antics, he's never going to succeed.

Skill-wise, he was very much ready to enter the NBA. But I think it's pretty clear now that he could have used some years to grow the fuck up, and get some real coaching.

Lebron should have stayed in Cleveland where he could buy rings from Terrell Pryor.

LOL - I heard it on Mike and Mike this morning.

Bosh is so overrated

normally i'd agree, certainly regular season

but in the playoffs/finals, dude straight up balled and had a right to complain about touches. he had 1/2 the shots and was shooting a high %
