Leg cramps during bike ride?

Anyone else get pretty bad leg cramps in their quads? I get pretty bad cramps right above the knees when I go on long rides, usually after the 30 mile mark I start to feel them. I did some research online and nothing really sounds like a solid solution. Anyone have any experience or luck?

If you haven't already, get a proper bike fit. If that doesn't help, it's likely either muscle fatigue or nutrition/hydration or you're not very flexible.

Can't be sure as it could be related to another medical condition, but from the description it reads like muscle fatigue to me also. You probably went past your muscle's maximum endurance and it cramps up to force downtime. You could force yourself through the cramp, but the risk of more severe injury increases substantially.

I dont want to believe that its fatigue, I was riding much more and longer distance last summer without such cramps. This summer it has been a pretty constant problem.

I understand r that could be harsh, earlier I had a same episode of knee pain. Anyways, I found something, hopefully it will work for you too.
