Leg Press & Headaches

While doing leg presses, i get a bad headache during and after. I am guessing that it is the strain of trying to press the weight but I am not sure. Anyone else have this issue?

Nope...but I am walking like a recent rape victim this weekend since on Friday I did my first leg workout since my ankle injury in July. (at least I got in a back and bi routine yesterday...couldn't convince myself to go to the gym today)

Here's hoping that I recover better next time

Hehe, I love that feeling. Just dont go down stairs quickly... noodle legs and running down stairs dont mix.

I've never gotten a headache. But I've gotten a little dizziness/nausea after doing leg presses. I think that's from getting up too fast and/or dropping blood sugar. Definitely make sure your breathing while you do it. Breathe out when pushing out and in as you let the weights down. If you stop breathing and strain like that you'll probably also get hemorrhoids. You don't want that.

Breathe and drink water while im lifting? I take it that I need to purchase some type of solo cup hat and a straw for this?

I get that sometimes, it's weird.

yea its blood pressure related, and like its been said breathing/drinking helps a lot.

I used to get that in high school when I would hold my breath while lifting. My gym teacher caught me and explained you have to breathe out on whatever the "work" motion is (the push on a bench press, standing up on a squat, the pull motion on a curl, etc). My headaches went away, and after a while I didn't really need to think about it anymore.
