1) In most cities it is illegal to have a pet that isn't licensed. For some states this is a county law and not city law.
2) Licensing is NOT to enable them to return your pet to you. So the argument that it won't get loose is meaningless. In fact in most locations where licensing is a law, there is NO requirement for them to actually wear the tags.
3) Licensing is for one thing: to generate funds. What do these funds go to? Paying for animal control and animal shelters. Who should be paying for these? Yep animal owners since non-animal owners don't need those services. So do your duty and pay the minisule yearly fee.

How about you go back to - or rather, go to English class and learn what the difference between "Won" and "Own" is? I'll look forward to your post when you cry that the Mean People took the stray dog away, because that's what you just told them it was.

"just license the dog, it is for other people's safety and in case the dog gets out and gets lost. Quit being a whiney little baby and quit trying to "fight the man"" Nice contribution DORK.

Yeah, too bad it's more valid than your "Ah'm juss ginna ignore them thar city slickers," you dumbass.

Go grab Maw and Paw, hop in your pickup, and go license your dumb mutt.

Nice post. I agree. Though I don't think our town of 316 really needs animal control.

Scan it then. I have difficulty believing that the city officials are quite as intellectually sterile as yourself.

Just another source of income for the city/town/country.

Or it could just be that you're wrong.

Pay the piddling little license fee. It's not like it's a huge amount.

Legal advice please!

I am breaking some law, and my city wants me to stop breaking that law. I want to keep breaking the law, but I have no legal grounds to fight the law. However, when people tell me to follow the law, I present irrelevant details that have nothing to do with the law.

Advice please!!!

I have no problem with paying a license fee. The thing that pisses me off is that for one of my dogs which remains unneutered, the fee is 3 times as high. Even though that dog never leaves the yard, except when attached to a leash.

"Or it could just be that you're wrong."

Perhaps, you will never know.

"Pay the piddling little license fee. It's not like it's a huge amount."

Of course this is what will end up happening.

"Well, grab yer shawtgun and hop in yer pickup, Cletus! Y'all best be takin' yer fightin' down's to that thar Po-Lice hall!"

Another great contribution...stereotyping everyone that lives in rural areas...

Coincidently, I received Fred's license renewal today. It's $15 for neutered males.

His rabies shot is now due. MORE money.

So "Paying the fine like a normal law-abiding citizen" is a bad option?

Seriously... license your dog. It is the law practically everywhere to make sure that you are taking care of your pet (vaccinations, etc.)

My God in Heaven...
