OK this is a very bad thread but I have to ask.

IF I was working on a pc and I found child Pron, What is the law regarding turning the perv over to the cops? (He will get turned over but I need documents telling me the laws) (Also i need a good site that tells me about state laws against it)

I don't know about laws, but if this is a real question report it quickly, or you WILL get caught up in it (the legal accusations - not the porn!).

Im googling it right now but I havnt found a site that states what the laws are and what the legal obligations are. (I know what the moral obligations are)

Is this actual real child porn or drawn child porn? FYI, I think the Supreme Court ruled that drawn child porn is okay, since no child was actually endangered. If it's real, turn the bastard in asap.

Well that covers my state. but I havnt found the law itself.

I called the state fbi office and they sent some locol agents in to check out the system. They concluded that he was running a porn server and they got a warrent out for his arrest now.

I talked to the fbi and they said that its going to become a country wide law if it gets passed that all IT people will have to call them in if htey find child porn on a system that they are working on.

(It was on his desktop, I dont snoop around people systems) But at least i feel that I did the right thing.

You have/had the system at work, or it was in his house?

He brought it in to work. I was the unlucky tech that pulled the system.

They got a search warrent in about 3 Hours and after an hour of checking out the contents of his HD they got an arrest warrent out for him.
