Legalization of Marijuana

Will we ever see it? Will the Feds change the law to allows states government to make the call? Are the constituents of this country going to wake up and push for the decriminalization?

I thought that I would see it in my lifetime...not so certain any more. I think it is time we start over with government...take them all out...rid the bipartisan mantra, limit terms and cap campaign contributions and actually instill a checks and balances system.

I still live in an area where liquor by the drink is a no no, and packaged liquor is a no go..jesus....i just do not get it...

Pretty much yeah. Booze/Tobacco laws will cover it for the most part. Industry is getting to big in certain parts of the country and the potential for it is even bigger. We're basically pissing away potential dollars every day we keep it illegal. Kind of stupid if you ask me.

We have about 20-30 years left of general religious far-right conservatives f'ing the country up before this can come about, if then. Hypocrites really on both sides of the aisle make this kind of impossible, and they're enabled by us, really the morons that sustain this idiocy.

Lost by like 7% in California, that was basically the split in the cannabis community. If you had followed it at all, you'd realize if it wasn't for personal greed California would already have legalized marijuana. Do you really think Colorado is that far behind us? They might even be further ahead, plus other states are coming on board with the medical marijuana as well.

Look at what the potential industry can make and you'll be wondering why we're squandering our potential for all those dollars. Hemp alone will be a huge business, let alone the drug part of marijuana.

The war on drugs has been going on for a quite a while, 30 years or so I believe. Considering this, all the actions by the federal government to combat drug use have been ineffective, given expenditures on the program. Legalizing marijuana would increase revenue, free some prisoners which will alleviate prison expenses. So far I see no downsides to this.

Hence the reason it will be legalized sooner than later. We're in desperate need of new revenue streams, this would be a pretty good one as it would also free up funds we use to combat it...

I am glad, though, that this issue will at least demonstrate to the rest of the country what a farce our "freedom" really is. It has the potential to bring about a change far greater than the mere legalization of pot.
