These reviews look better every time I read one. I just got my AK31 Rev 3.1 sitting on my desk right now. I'm looking forward to tonight when I install it.

I'm still debating on whether or not to install Windows XP, or just stick with 98SE.
Any suggestions?

Yes, here is a breakdown..

Elsa Gladiac 920 GeForce 3 - Native Drivers work, but download the 21.85 for better performance
Fasttrak 100 TX2 PCI RAID - Pretty sure native drivers work fine, I'll double check on this
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz - Drivers available at TB's site
US Robotics OEM # 2977 56K PCI Fax / Data - Native Drivers should be fine.


Looking at your board, does it have a little sticker in the lower left corner that says "Rev. 3.1"? Mine does, I peeled it back and under it said Rev 2.0.. so infact Shuttle is using the EXACT same silicon and layout as the Rev 2.0 boards. Interesting..

just downloaded the Nvidia Reference drivers for Windows XP.

with the modem being "old" hardware, I'm sure XP will find it with no problem.

Yes, my board also has the "Ver 3.1" sticker.

Go for WinXP josehB, much stable then win98SE.

Just installed Windows XP Home Edition.

So far , so good on this new AK31 Rev 3.1 board.

Time for some benchmarking and testing.
Very easy to install. SK6 fits very good, with plenty of room to spare.
The Socket area has the four mounting holes for the newer Swiftech & Alpha heatsinks.
The BIOS has full voltage mod options and its very easy to navigate through.
