I just wanted to reach out and thank you for taking the time to review the Catalyst Omega driver and press deck. We appreciate you sharing your insights and your positive feedback, the driver has reached 2 million downloads to date!

This really reflects the succes, the popularity and usefulness of it.

I reported a game issue, very very minor though. Got an automated email afterwards from AMD saying thanks and that they read every report hehe.

Its just a driver update. Wouldn't previous Catalyst releases have similar download counts? Or are people just neglecting to update their drivers?

Is 2 million good? And if so, why would there ever be a thread started about how many times a driver was downloaded? I am truly curious. I have seen tons of "New Driver Available" threads, but never this.

Again, changing the tired misconception/perception about their drivers is something that at least LR decided was newsworthy, as well as the OP.

I personally hope you continue to bump this thread with your continued curiosity.

seems nvidia pr machine is worried about this trend, going from performance, to ustutter, to drivers and soon possible power consumption.

It appears that AMD has a lot of pride in this driver, which is a good thing.

Good drivers = happy customers. They reached out to the communities and listened and delivered.

For me the bugfixes weighted way more than the performance increase. No issues here since the update. Performance increase is mild.

Pretty good drivers. Haven't had a single issue. I'm running the technical preview so I didn't have the windows update issue.

Both of my AMD GPU computers prompted me to download the driver this week. I've never seen CCC ask me to download anything. That's not hyperbole either - I have NEVER had AMD drivers auto-update or prompt me to upgrade drivers. I wonder if that has anything to do with the success?

This. Without knowing how many downloads they usually get, can't really say if it was a success or not. I am betting it is more than usual, but I'd like to see numbers. NUMBERS!

This is a totally meaningless post without context as others have mentioned. How many people dl'd the last driver release or ANY other driver release? For all we know, 3 million might have dl'd the last WHQL disaster that AMD released.

I'm asking reasonable questions just as MANY other posters in this thread are doing. There is no context. There is no reference to the last driver download number. What is the significance of 2 million in comparison with past AMD driver releases. How does it make this driver a success over previous releases?

Omega destroyed my Eyefinity profile so bad I had to downgrade to 14.9 and use driver clean sweeps in safe mode just to get it working. And this is after using Eyefinity without a single problem for over a year before that.
