LEGO Friends

I took my daughter shopping this evening with a Toys R Us gift card she had received for Christmas, and we stumbled across these new LEGO Friends sets. Apparently they just came out a few days ago. It's nice to see that they are finally producing more LEGO sets that are appealing to girls. Instead of minifigs these sets use "mini dolls" figures. She was pretty excited about it and got one.

My daughter got the large house set in the mail yesterday and about peed her pants (it was a surprise).
We have hundreds of sets and almost 1,000 minifigs, but this is stuff she really likes.

Yeah, it's stupid. It's not as if I'm forcing her to get these. She likes stuff with little girls and puppies in it.

I agree. It's not sexist if people have a choice. It's perfectly fine if little girls like being girly. It's also perfectly fine if they like playing with toys that are more boyish. People need to stop getting their panties in a twist and just let kids play with the stuff that they like.

I had enough fun with LEGO's as a child. I think its great that girls get to enjoy the same type of toys, but on a more familiar level.

Choice isn't a bad thing. Girls get more options and LEGO can generate more sales. Win-win.

LEGO has certainly moved forward in the market and they make no qualms about taking popular ip and doing their thing with it. Its hugely successful.

I have done some work with the company (and still do actually). On one project they sent me a video from you tube of the breathing they wanted for the characters in the animation (they had helmets on). This is the exact video they sent me
