I miss last year when the deals were flying fast and furious! Amazon was selling Star Wars mindstorm kits for $30, MCI was giving out $150 Amazon GC's for switching, MSN Passport was giving REAL 20% discounts instead of lame rebates, OD was drastically marking down items nearly every day, Ourhouse was unloading, Tavolo was unloading, 800.com actually had good prices.....

I'm finding better deals in stores this year!

does anyone know if this is the 2.0 version or the 1.0 or 1.5 version?

2.0's go for at least $180.

on eb*ay you can get the 1.0 versions for around $90. the 2.0 version is supposed to be a lot more programmable i believe?

still it's good for spare parts...

At Compusa, these are version 1.5 and yes it is 99 buck. However, the software only runs on Win95/98, so if you have other OS version than you are out of luck.

Both the 1.0, and 1.5 are upgradeable to the 2.0.

There is no meaningfull) difference in the hardware, the changes are in the firmware,
and PC software.

I beleive the new firmware is DL'able from the lego.com website. The new PC software,
manual, and any pieces needed can be purchased from shop.lego.com for about $25
(I think?)

cool thanks for the info.

i also found out a few other tidbits:

the 2.0 box has a usb connector. the 1.5 and 1.0 have a infrared tower.
the 1.0 rcx brick is the only one with an ac adapter you can plug in, the others run off batteries.

you can upgrade, as someone mentioned, the software from 1.0 or 1.5 to 2.0 for $19.99 on lego's website.

there are a few minor part differences between the set, but nothing major.
