Got a :camera: of it built sao123? I'd love to know what it looks like!

Will take one tomorrow night.

My son got a Technics motorcycle for his birthday back in April. It has been hard not to pull it out of the box and put it together myself. I'm saving it for a weekend when we don't have alot going on to put it together with him.

Seeing this thread reminded me that I never posted pictures of my LEGO TECHNIC Tow Truck (8285). When I first stumbled across the thread it stirred my urge to build again. So I started looking around on eBay for different sets and came across this one.

Link to images on PhotoBucket

It took me roughly 8-10 hours off and on of building. The only thing I didn't add is the stickers. Some of the placement isn't the same between the two items you can build with this set.

Now to tear it all down and build the flatbed truck. I'll be sure to take some pictures after finishing that.

only ebay/CL
Took me about 2 years, but I sniped one for $120... Usually they go for $180 to $200 or $350 if you can find one still in the box.

As much as I love Lego's, what do you do with it once it's built? I haven't found something in my adult life that gives me a reason for Lego's, although I would love it. As a kid I used to have wars with all of them, is that what adults still do with them?

My completed models are sitting atop the hutch on my desk.

My 7 year old loves technic bricks...he's got that one actually and a few more. He usually builds them then takes them apart and uses the parts to build some machine...like a candy dispenser or a crank shaft

Oh speaking of rebuilds, once I built the Telescopic Handler, I tore it down and turned into the Log Roller (alternate kit):

I could never convince my mom to get me a Technic set instead of the usual Legoland stuff, so I never had a chance to play with them.

Awesome build. How much did you pay for it? The $200+ asking price on eBay is a little too rich for my blood

I loved playing with Legos as a kid...which is why I wanted to be an engineer, but when I realized that engineering is designing and not necessarily building, I switched to Building Construction (i.e. Construction Management). Now I'm back on track building stuff.

I don't like the new regular legos so much anymore becuase they keep introducing specialized solid plastic parts. I liked the old sets where it was ALL LEGOS. I used to spend hours building, ripping apart, building, modifying, etc...I'm gonna have to get into the construction ones and put them on my desk.

I paid a little over $160 shipped. Was the best price at the time on eBay. I didn't bid on the item until the last second to avoid getting into a bidding war with anyone else.

Not bad, I've got my bid (sniped) in on one right now

I always wanted one of the Mindstorm sets when I was a kid since I enjoyed robotics and programming. Now that I can easily buy one myself... well, I just haven't.

One of the most amazing sights that I could ever conceive of -- the Lego vault, where they have at least 1 unopened copy of every set ever produced:
